I was almost in Greenland when I was a kid. '57 ride backwards on a troop carrier with mom and little brother headed for Africa to join dad in Morocco, we landed in Argentia for refueling before the trek across the pond. Dad was Navy and stationed there at Port Lyautey. Cold as a motha, December, and the fellow that led us into the warm up while the plane was readied said that if we thought that was cold, cross that water into Greenland and learn all about it.
Our next stop was Portugal and then up to Morocco, both warmth I still remember being thankful for.
Not Denmark, but does that sorta almost count?
