Got sent this screenshot from another friend. Thought I couldn't comment on threads anymore since I didn't renew my membership. I'll post an update in the fishing thread. GT Trip from February is the main update and some river smallmouth recently and modified my torqeedo to scoot around rivers skinny.

Just shows how poor of a recruiter Fuente was.

A question though- haven't composite grades inflated over the last 10 years? I thought something changed with ESPN changed between now and the last several years that caused the overall grade to be higher (i.e.- an 87 rated recruit in 2017 is actually more valuable than a 87 rated recruit in 2026).

Either way- thank you for putting this together.

I agree with both of you. What is the purpose of his suit? Settlement? Clear his name? As far as it goes, he's free to act in his own interest, for sure, and were I to feel I was unlawfully treated, I'd be inclined to sue as well. What a mess, though.

I agree, but to play devil's advocate - the filing of this lawsuit proves that he is no longer acting in VT's best interests, but his own, now that he's been terminated.

It does not prove that he was acting outside of VT's best interests at the time.

(There are other things that might lead you to that conclusion though. Just not the simple fact that he has now filed this lawsuit.)

Yeah, invasive species suck. I don't think we've been hit with the silver carp invasion that is plaguing the Missouri drainages, but they're probably coming. I'm fine with sticking invasives with a bow all else considered, but you're right humans suck and we've not done well by our wild friends in the woods and rivers.

IM(ns)HO, this lawsuit is not a good move on his part, because he's just forcing the governor to detail the reasons he was terminated. This is not going to be a good look on VT, and by filing the lawsuit, he proves the third of the termination reasons (that he wasn't acting in VT's best interests).

Thinking about hunter and payoute is rough. Those were 2 of the highest rated recruits Fuente got (Hunter was literally the highest and our highest rated guy since Kendall fuller) and they played essentially zero snaps. You can afford a few whiffs when you get lots of 4 stars. Unfortunately Fuente couldn't afford the whiffs and our record paid the price. Franklin is showing that we will have high end talent but also some depth. Here's hoping that trend continues

Well, we've been subjected to this for the past two coaches, so the way I look at it, we have a huge jump in talent that even with the horrid game day coaching we've had, we should win most, if not all the one score games from Pry's tenure (as an example).

If this is the "worst case scenario", I'm fine with it, but to a point made within this thread already, his record shows his game day coaching is an upgrade we'd gladly take.

Bow hunting for fish isn't new, by any means. Usually not an issue of interest to non participants, at least until they get stupid and dump the carcasses where the public will be concerned.
You were mentioning the snakehead fish loosed upon VA waters by someone who didn't know better. They are supposedly excellent table fare and they bite hard and pull harder, so hope was to keep them trimmed down from taking too much forage from natural fishes by getting folks in the fishing community to help out. So far, not so good. Unlike the invasive blue catfish which was knowingly stocked for angling purposes, snakeheads likely were dumped in a local pond either for outgrowing their tank or not being eaten and then tossed. Their ability to use their fins and bodies to be able to move short distances on land helped spread them beyond the original point of release to becoming a nuisance.
It's the human touch that caused this, and we just don't seem to learn our lessons well.

I lived in ABQ for 4 years before moving back to VA and I'll admit, it was a humbling experience watching my distance plummet. We'll be doing a practice round on Wednesday so I'll deff pay attention to distances. Guessing it'll be easily a club longer, if not more given that Park City is ~2,000 ft higher than ABQ. Appreciate the comments!
