The bumper plates were about $8-$9 per pound. If I remember correctly a 45 pound plate was about $365. Multiply that by the amount necessary for a football weight room and you're looking at 20-25 percent of the entire budget for the room.

The catch was that the weights were lifetime guarantee. However, the company that made the weights ended up going out of business soon after or possibly before the weight room was finalized.

But if you wanted to keep the room within a certain budget, that was the easiest place to start.

I always get a kick out of the reference, but if anyone ever wants the scoop on "weights weigh the same". I can tell you about it, and even though it's been a laughing point about Whit, I don't actually blame him.

The new coaching staff at Kentucky has put quite a few QBs into the NFL recently so probably a good move for him. It was one reason Kentucky was early rumor to get Sam Leavitt.

I didn't realize he could come back. That's awesome. Teach the young bro all he can and hand it off

His pass rushing skills were more speed and brute strength. Technique needs work.

At this level speed and brute strength is already a massive improvement over what we had, I think. Adding technique and playing alongside a DT that knows WTH to do should scare the piss out of any QB and OC.

In the last 20 years we've had a top 40 offense only 5 times. All 5 under previous coaching staffs and one of them during the covid season, so asterisk. In fact, not counting the covid season, our last top 40 offense (39) was Fuente's first year (2016) where it was largely talent overcoming coaching rather than actual coaching, as it turns out.

I think if JMFF is able to get our offense and defense both into the top 40 in year 1 that would be a remarkable achievement. On the one hand, I wouldn't expect that. On the other, top 40 isn't asking for a tremendous lift given our status in the P4. With VT's resources and commitment to football being in the top 40 should be a fairly reasonable expectation. Elite (top 15ish) would be every fans dream but not a reasonable expectation, imo.

We'll see. I'd be content with a top 40 offense in year 1.

Committed to Kentucky. Stoops fell off because they wouldn't spend money on football, but it might've been a play to get rid of Stoops because it seems like they're splashing the cash at the moment. Flipped Minchey from Nebraska and Clark from Michigan. Rest of their transfer class right now is from big time programs.
