Alum: This hits hard. Very sorry for your family to lose a pup. As said, we don't deserve them - they are our best friends for their entire life - and they make sure we know it.
I wonder if fans that already booked travel have any recourse or ability to sue the teams or promotors over the game being cancelled. Guessing no. There probably is some language in there about people are responsible for all costs incurred if, blah, blah, blah. Refund for the tickets to the game, maybe, but not flights and hotels and whatnot.
Yes, I'd be royally pissed if I was one of the dozens of UVa fans that booked the trip. Sure there are other activities they can do there, but still, this is really obnoxious to cancel that way.
Obligatory:

Shhhh don't give away my plan...
(kidding, would NOT want to be a university president in this chaotic time)
When I was first elected as Senate president last year, "congratudolences" was the common phrase. Still applicable.
Local 3* lineman Ethan Lawson chose WVU over VT yesterday. I hadn't seen any mention on him on here and was just curious if we cooled on him or if we missed out. He was from a very small single A school. 247 has him rated higher than the lineman we picked up yesterday. Just curious if anyone had any inside info.
Not sure what you asked grok but of draft eligible qbs that won MVP more than 65% ended up drafted...that's a pretty significant hit rate considering the average 4* draft rate is like 20-40%.
Draft rate is definitely a hard number to track.
I do agree that the middle and bottom of the Elite 11 are just going to have the same hit rate as a typical 4* QB but finishing 2nd is likely a better than average indicator
True, but those odds would still be a significant upgrade at VT.
In the last 25 years, VT has sent only 3 QB's to the NFL via straight draft;
MV 2001 (#1 pick), Tyrod 2011 (6th round pick #180), LT 2014 (4th round, pick #120)
(And LT didnt really do much as a QB, need i say. And I dont feel counting Hendon to VT is really fair, sigh....)
So, a 50% hit rate would be a huge improvement.

I'm referring to them here as prequel trilogy (1-3), original trilogy (4-6), sequel trilogy (7-9)

About 50% of Elite 11 QBs get drafted (per Grok). At best, it's directionally meaningful.

no, I thought we were positioning pieces to elect President VTGuitarMan
But who will elect Rector VTGuitarMan?!

Rogue One remains the best of them all.

How did a school that is as smart with money as NC State agree to go to Brazil without confirming what their pay day would be. The logistics of shipping all their equipment alone would probably have been close to 6 figures.
I can easily see LOLUVA making that mistake based on some of their other bone headed maneuvers.
