It's set up with a lot of rich people donating to it. That's how it's set up.
We just need to find more rich people that love VT.
And the sad part is Tech sells out for WBB even if attendance isn't there compared to sales. That said our attendance numbers for WBB look great compared to most WBB programs everywhere.
So, legal money laundering per se? ...

Apparently the Kentucky NIL is rocking and rolling with income now. So we probably ought to try and figure out how that one is setup.
I for one am very happy that Miami has still never won an ACC championship in football.
And that is the way it should be.
Looking at that first video, my guess is the way the OL and RB were charging downfield to block, this was QB Draw all day. I'm also 1000% sure there are better examples of a one read and go they could have used to make his point. So I'm not disputing the point, I just think they picked a bad example.
EDIT: The next video was a much better example, but I stand by my point that the first video was straight QB Draw.
This was a guy I wanted. Tall and from a good high school program. He also has this very charming interview with Paramus alum Billy Ray Mitchell https://youtube.com/shorts/b5iBUPpEU8E?si=Xgyh6QUdtDeMzqXB
For sure... Even with my assumption that that figure is significantly inflated, any team paying even half of that for a WCBB roster is taking a bath monetarily.
The NIL "market" is legitimately disconnected from reality at this point. It makes the US housing market pre-2008 look completely sane in comparison.
I cannot fathom how they successfully fundraise to this.
Which really raises the question - wth were his HS coaches doing?
... Drones reads the middle of the field, sees its covered, hangs on it too long, panics and bails...
Sounds about right
Miami is far and away #1 in the ACC. Estimates are about $40M more than anyone else, mostly focused on football. Not sure they won a single ACC Championship this year although they benefited the most of any school thanks to keeping all the CFP revenue.
Dont care about the political affiliation as long as the new rector follows the by-laws, doesn't try an end-around on the president search, and has the best interest of VT in mind.
Agreed, so now add 5% of Revenue Share ($1.125M for next season) and having to fundraise $8-$9M in NIL above that Annually. The Championship teams should benefit by actual corporate NIL deals but thats probably only the top 2-3% of players. It just exacerbates an already losing position.
Agree its different which is why I thought it was odd they were paired together. if Clemson is the top at ACC for spending then they are doing it very poor job of it because I think their best finish was men's basketball which was what 4th?
Thats the new one. Even on the old one, the league lost $40M last season even after generating $300M in revenue.
This season the league gets a TV contract bump of about $200M but they quadrupled player salaries so are projected to lose $75-$80M this year.
They also added $500M in team fees for the two new franchises that began play. They will get $250M a year for team fees for the next three seasons as the leagues expands to 18 teams.
The biggest problem for profitability is the number of games. NBA plays an 82 game schedule. WNBA plays only a 44 game schedule. Thats only 330 total games compared to NBA playing 1230 games. Playoffs make the discrepancy even larger.
Since 1997, the league is estimated to have lost $350M. The NBA owners used it as a tax write-off.
Gonna need to see his battery percentage.
2nd overall yet rivals gave him zero superlative...:wtf
Plus the coaches at camps.
He had 3 different QB coaches between VT and Baylor. Maybe it was not the coaches? Some people just struggle to break a habit. When it is a drill and you are focusing on it, you can do it fine. But when you are focused on something else, you just revert because you have done it that way for years. Especially if you have some success doing it wrong.
Jersey Strong!
Only if he turns out to be good. Otherwise I had nothing do do with it.
Jim Miller will be the next Rector will be voted on today. As I said above, he is a right-leaning Youngkin apointee
