Hokieball

Hey Hokies!

My name is Aidan and I am a sophomore engineering student at Tech. Over the last two years I have worked very closely with the Virginia Tech baseball team and various scouting groups within baseball. I have talked to Joe a few times and have decided to start up a thread for various articles I will be writing about Virginia Tech baseball. These articles will likely be covering a wide range of topics but I have basically broken them down into three main categories.

The Future of Hokieball: Articles in the ‘Future of Hokieball’ section will feature reports on Hokie recruits as well as preseason updates. Most of the work appearing in this category will be written during the offseason when new recruits are coming onto campus and we are preparing for the upcoming season!

Weekend Update: The Weekend Update will consist of a preview of the upcoming weekend’s series (likely posted Thursday night) as well as a recap of the series (on Monday night).

Where are They Now? : This category is the one I am most looking forward to. My dedication and interests lie in Minor League Baseball and scouting minor league games. As Hokieball has gained more and more respect, we have seen a growing number of our players drafted every year. I would like to pick a different Hokie alumnus every week and write an update of where they are now and how their career is going. I will try and get out and scout as many of these players as I can. For the players I don’t get the opportunity to see, I will try and use my connections within the business to get the most up to date information.

I have never written for any sort of publication before, but I am really looking forward to hopefully getting my name out there and gaining some experience in a field that I love.

If anyone has any suggestions of things that they would like to see written about, or any players who they have been wondering about, then please let me know. I am entirely open to suggestions and criticism.
