I think this may have slid through about a month ago because of the Erick Green NBA Draft story, but it appears Donte Clark (who was our top recruit for this cycle) wasn't admitted to VT, and will instead attend UMass, though he may be ineligible for this season. Here's the story:

Unfortunately, this leave us VERY thin at the Guard position, with just Rankin and Johnston returning, along with Adam Smith being eligible after his transfer year. With both our starters (yes, I'm counting Robert Brown as a starter) from last year gone, our backcourt might end up being a huge nightmare. Having to rely on a freshman or a 3-point specialist walk-on is really bothersome. As a team that already is looking like it will struggle, this definitely hurts. Thoughts on this?
