Great article Andy! Man I love coach but he has aged 15 years in the past 3-4. The O-line depth chart may age him another 5 before OSU. Sorry for the negativity but to say I am concerned would be an understatement, just don't see this thing headed in the right direction. Hope I am wrong.

I thought he looked pretty good. His voice is a bit off from the surgery, but he sounds fine. He's loving Spring ball starting. Watch his hands, he's ready to get out of there and off to it!

I actually was not worried about Frank until I watched the live press conference. The raspy voice is understandable, though his tone is now higher pitched. I think that he looks older because of the amount of weight that he has lost--especially out of his face which can make you look gaunt. What surprised and concerned me was his color--very pale, almost gray...definitely not healthy. He continues to dodge questions about the specifics of his surgery though he did mention something about tonsils which can be very serious in older adults. His words were very positive about his health and were confirmed by Gentry and Goforth. The conclusion I drew is what others have inferred--that Frank's situation was perhaps more serious than they want us to know, but this is another dodged bullet, much like Bud's potential departure to TAMU.

If he still looks like crap after the summer, yeah I'll be concerned. Right now, he just looks like he hasn't eaten much solid food in a while (unsurprising given it was throat surgery) and he hasn't spent much time outside (which we already knew). If he still looks pale and gaunt after a summer of sun and BBQ, there might be a more serious issue. Right now, he looks a little worse for wear but on the mend.

For the love of GOD can we please come up with freaking nicknames for the three Edmunds Brothers so I can tell them apart now !!There are so many Edmunds on this team with all their names so similar it takes me way too long to figure out who is who.

Trey, Relle, and Maine. What will be interesting is what it says on the back of their jerseys. Will we see Fe. Edmunds or Edmunds III on Trey? I assume you'll see Tr. Edmunds and Te. Edmunds for the other two.

In Gentry's update about who has done well with 6AM workouts, he mentioned "Clark." Both Austin and Chuck are mentioned earlier in the article, so it is unclear which is referenced. Lots of Clarks.

I am going to let the spring practices play out before I start worrying, if at all. Young guys play all the time on many teams. Some (freshmen) guys have faster learning curves than other, so I am playing the wait and see game nowadays..... especially with the better recruiting at OL.

"In our profession there's push and pull athletes," Goforth said. "The push athletes you've got to push back out there and the pull athletes you've got to pull so they don't hurt each other. And Sam Rogers ... is an animal."
This quote cracked me up.

Excellent article, as always, Andy. Thanks!

I thought he looked pretty old too. BUT the guy is probably still recovering from surgery, couldn't eat much, etc.
negative waves...negative waves...we don't need no stinkin' negative waves!!
When I was on the swim team in Jr High I was a "push guy". That YMCA water at 5:30 am was so bleeping cold.
this might be one of my favorite memes.... everytime I look at it, I cant help but laugh
I love reading about all the "pull" guys. It gives the team a certain swagger that, I hope, will help them achieve great things.

I know, I was like, "Edmunds at corner? I thought he was a backer ooooohhh."
T1, T2, T3?

That's Chuck Clark.
Clark W. Griswald, Jr. His father calls him "Griz". His mother calls him "Clarkie". His wife calls him "Sparky".
...and he never won an academy award.
Could have gotten "best picture" at the AVNs, if he just had film in the camera.

Wait...Clark? There wasn't film in the camera, right?
And a Clarke at linebacker

Any idea when HokieSports will update heights/weights on the roster?
I believe they are out

The Saminal
Boom. Gold.
This sounds like it should be part of the male reproductive system.
How do we make this official?
I'm giving out an A+ for correctly using the phrase "champing at the bit".
As a silent member of the grammar police, that made me nod approvingly.
