Blackshear, Horne, Bibbs, and NAW played terrific switch defense the whole night. It was defense that won this game. Duke took a ton of bad shots forced by the defense when VT couldn't get anything to fall.

I am the MVP for this team... I wasn't going to say anything before tonight to jinx it but I had tickets to three basketball games this year as my Christmas present from my in-laws. UNC and Duke at home and UVa at JPJ... Wasn't able to use any of them so I sold them all...

Actually, I have to say that I'm a little responsible for this as well. For the last two years, EVERY. SINGLE. MOTHER FUCKING (Quit Cussing!) TIME that I check on a score of a Hokie game that I can't sit and watch whether it's football or basketball, they lose. Tonight I couldn't get in front of a TV until around 8:50, and I had no idea of the score, and the Hokies were down 5, but started the comeback.

I'm probably in the minority (on my own?) I kind of like that Allen plays the way he does, I want Duke to have that player that all of America outside of Durham hates. Whether it's Laettner, Reddick, or Allen someone has to wear the black hat it makes the games more compelling, and all the sweeter for a result like last night. However I agree with your point that anyone but Duke and he'd be gone.

Reddick was a league of his own.... dude would straight up take over a game from half court and flirt with your mom on the way back down. He had arrogance like I have never seen. Loved to watch him play due to him being from Cave Spring and a local guy. It's the only time I ever watched Duke was when he was there lighting it up before anyone had even heard of Step Curry.

So I was looking at the standings trying to figure out who to root for this week and there are still so many variables to figure out the ACCT seeds. I think a Miami win tomorrow would be huge because we have to beat the canes anyways to finish ahead of them and that would give us a shot at catching UNC. We also need Clemson and State to pick up another loss.

So, at a bar in the French Quarter. The Pelicans are playing the Suns which is on every screen, there's 1 minute left. The battery in my phone dies. I beg the bartender to put ESPN. There are now less than 20 seconds left, we have the ball, down by one. After pass, after pass, after pass, a fake, a pass, time's running out, we go for the jump shot... I scream because from the get go I can tell that it's not going in. I grip the bar, I scream. Then Clarke tips in in. WE COULD WIN THIS. There's only a few seconds left. Duke is scared. They rush, attempt a three for the win, but it's contested. I'm screaming. I'm the only person screaming. People are staring at me. I don't seem to care. It looks like Duke won but NO, the clock hit zero before the ball goes in. WE FUCKING WON. I'm now screaming louder but hey, now other people are screaming with me... We celebrate, we take a shot of some brown liquor somebody purchased to congratulate me on the Hokies WIN. What an experience.

Actually, I have to say that I'm a little responsible for this as well. For the last two years, EVERY. SINGLE. MOTHER FUCKING (Quit Cussing!) TIME that I check on a score of a Hokie game that I can't sit and watch whether it's football or basketball, they lose. Tonight I couldn't get in front of a TV until around 8:50, and I had no idea of the score, and the Hokies were down 5, but started the comeback.

Reddit was filled with comments saying Allen got fouled on the last 3 at the buzzer. Just watched it about 12 times and maybe a little contact, but nothing crazy and certainly less than what both teams were able to get away with all night.
Allen should try out for the US National Soccer Team, he is the biggest effing flopper I've ever seen. Kid is like Bukcy Hodges after he makes a catch, can't help but just not fall to the ground.
He might be one of the most lowkey dirty players I've seen play in a very long while. The only reason people aren't talking about him at the very least trying to trip TWO Hokies last night is that we're just fatigued of hearing about it all the time and listening to K bitch and moan that we're focusing on it too much. I'm probably in the minority (on my own?) I kind of like that Allen plays the way he does, I want Duke to have that player that all of America outside of Durham hates. Whether it's Laettner, Reddick, or Allen someone has to wear the black hat it makes the games more compelling, and all the sweeter for a result like last night. However I agree with your point that anyone but Duke and he'd be gone.
Reddick was a league of his own.... dude would straight up take over a game from half court and flirt with your mom on the way back down. He had arrogance like I have never seen. Loved to watch him play due to him being from Cave Spring and a local guy. It's the only time I ever watched Duke was when he was there lighting it up before anyone had even heard of Step Curry.
Reddick is one of the earliest memories I have of watching CBB and understanding he hate of rivalries. Growing up in Maryland and seeing the hate between UMD and Duke Fans (Transplants or bandwagoners?) I just remember you either loved Reddick or hated him.

I have a similar issue with an long time friend that is a UVA fan. Every time the Facebook smack talk starts, all he does is attack the "Hokie arrogance" and I'm over here like um.....really? They literally have had to deal with their own ineptitude for so long that they perceive us as arrogant?!

So, at a bar in the French Quarter. The Pelicans are playing the Suns which is on every screen, there's 1 minute left. The battery in my phone dies. I beg the bartender to put ESPN. There are now less than 20 seconds left, we have the ball, down by one. After pass, after pass, after pass, a fake, a pass, time's running out, we go for the jump shot... I scream because from the get go I can tell that it's not going in. I grip the bar, I scream. Then Clarke tips in in. WE COULD WIN THIS. There's only a few seconds left. Duke is scared. They rush, attempt a three for the win, but it's contested. I'm screaming. I'm the only person screaming. People are staring at me. I don't seem to care. It looks like Duke won but NO, the clock hit zero before the ball goes in. WE FUCKING WON. I'm now screaming louder but hey, now other people are screaming with me... We celebrate, we take a shot of some brown liquor somebody purchased to congratulate me on the Hokies WIN. What an experience.
