2018 Six Pick Week 11

Week 11, and unless Birdman dropped an 0-fer in Week 1 (I haven't looked), it's looking like he'll be able to pretty much coast the rest of the season. He's opened up a 4-game lead with just 3 weeks to go. I'm assuming he'll start playing his backups soon.

November 10

h/t Land Grant Holy Land
Ohio State (-3.5)
Michigan State

Fun Fact #1: Ohio State actually trailed Nebraska for more than a quarter last week. Yeesh.
Fun Fact #2: Don't look now, but Michigan State's defense is back. They're the #1 run defense in the country.

PICK: I'd feel a lot better about Michigan State if they had a competent offense. I'll take Ohio State by 4.

"Turnover chain my f**kin' ass"
Wisconsin
Penn State (-8)

Fun Fact #1: Looks like Wisconsin's QB is dealing with a concussion and might not play against PSU. Last time he sat out, the Badgers lost to Northwestern. That's not good.
Fun Fact #2: Wasn't this supposed to be a Penn State breakthrough year? They've lost 3 of their last 5 and are in 4th place in their division.

PICK: I was going to take Wisconsin in a upset here until I found out their QB is hurt. Their passing game already sucked. I'll sadly take Penn State to cover.

Oklahoma State
Oklahoma (-18)

Fun Fact #1: Oklahoma State's lost 3 of their last 4. That includes a loss to Baylor, and a win over Texas (!)
Fun Fact #2: I don't know why, but I thought Bedlam was supposed to happen later in the year. Was this one of those deals where the Big XII was trying to avoid a rematch in their championship game?
PICK: Oklahoma State's been playing like poo. The Sooners will RUTS against them.

Washington State (-6)
Colorado

Fun Fact #1: Oddly enough, Mike Leach has never won in Boulder, one of the two stadiums he's 0-fer. The other is Husky Stadium.
Fun Fact #2: Opposing QB's have set careers highs against the Buffalos in each of the last two games. And here comes Wazzu.

PICK: I'm honestly surprised this line is this close. I feel like I'm falling into a trap here, but yet again I'll take the favorite to cover.

Auburn
Georgia (-14.5)

Shaw doesn't just coach, he can do crappy magic tricks

Fun Fact #1: Auburn showed last week against Texas A&M that just like a 12-year old playing Madden, you dont need to run the ball to win (they piled up a grand total of 19 yards on the ground).
Fun Fact #2: Surprisingly, Georgia's struggled to cover spreads of 2 TD's or more. They've been favored by that much 4 times this year, and are 1-3 ATS so far.

PICK: I think Auburn spent their ammo last week in the A&M game. The extra half-point worries me a bit, but again, I'll take Georgia and lay the points. I'm really getting nervous here.

Separated at birth
Clemson (-20)
BC

Fun Fact #1: Do you remember way back in week 2 when Clemson needed a late 2-point conversion against Texas A&M? Feels like both teams have gone in opposite directions. Nobody else (except weirdly Syracuse) have come close to them this season.
Fun Fact #2: BC's gone 7-2 ATS this season. If they had any fans, they'd be cleaning house in Vegas.

PICK: I don't hold BC's first-half struggle against a fading Hokies team against them :( I don't think this game's ever in doubt, but I do like BC to cover.

DRINK OF THE WEEK

Dayton actually once had the highest number of US patents granted per capita. Few were more important to the lifestyle of TKP'ers than the pop-top beer can. This is a local brew meant to honor the memory of the guy who came up with them. There's actually an outdoor musical venue here named for him. Pop-top beer cans are that important.
