I am really digging that TKP and VT athletics seem to be collectively celebrating Festivus this year, seeing as we have begun airing our grievances and Hokies Wrestling took care of our feats of strength by defeating Stanford yesterday. Here's to hoping our Festivus miracle is a few more croots and portalers coming Home.
While we wait for signing day I thought it would be fun to share our favorite non-traditional holiday song and/or traditions. Here are a couple of my favorite tunes during December:

And...
Greatest Christmas movie of all time.
I forgot to take a picture my VT tree this year. I will update when I have the chance.
Edit: It's only in its second year. Hoping to get some maroon tinsel and add a few ornaments for next year.

Die Hard is a solid choice. But I'm confused because I thought the OP said "non-traditional" and Christmas and Die Hard go together like lamb and tuna fish.
Fair enough...schnitzel and polka for you.
Tom Lehrer's Christmas medley is my personal fave;
This will be a nice addition to my holiday playlist, thank you.
Not sure if it counts as "non traditional" but I'm always amazed at the number of people that don't have Scrooged on their yearly Christmas movie list. I get a chuckle ever time I see the Frank Cross's inspirational definition in his office.
Scrooged is one of my favorites! Love that movie!
While the NFL is slowly taking over Christmas day, I will always count NBA on Christmas Day as one of my favorites. Always a great slate of games, the under hits at a higher rate, and nothing like having Chuck, Shaq, Kenny, and Ernie join the Christmas fun.
Merry Christmas TKP!!
Merry Christmas ladies and gents. Been a while since I checked in to the site. I love and miss y'all!!
It's christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas to all of you crazy folks. Thanks for being part of my life. Wishing you all the best.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
While the in laws are over and light christmas tunes play over the bluetooth, I like to sneak in Robert Earl Keen's "Merry Christmas from the Family" and, muuuch tougher to pull off, Steel Panther's "Sexy Santa" and see if anyone notices.
I tried to sneak in the misfits cover of you're a mean one Mr Grinch yesterday. We made it about halfway through before someone noticed.
There are only two Christmas albums needed, Destination ... Christmas! by the Superions and A Colt 45 Christmas by Afroman
Scott Weiland made a Christmas album. He croons his way through most of it, but occasionally can't help himself and has to get weird. You could slide that in and mostly go unnoticed.

Chris Marve is out here asking the questions that matter on Christmas. Posted on twitter asking grits or cream if wheat. I was a bit surprised to see some cream of wheat supporters.
Mannheim Steamroller is great Christmas music.
And TSO. Both are great.
So, this is Christmas...
...and

Well, if you're John Lennon, you ripped off a song called Stewball (about a racehorse), put new words to the tune, and cashed in.
Maybe the worst 'Christmas song' ever.
Pet peeve of mine is when rich celebrities whine about why others aren't doing more to help [insert whatever they are whining about]. My response is dude, you are rich, why don't you just live off 1/5th of what you make and donate the rest. You'd still be better off then most of the people you are talking to. And I donate plenty too.
Sorry, post-Christmas rant for the day. And I really do hate that song.
Or you could try and fail mightily like Bob Geldof with the whole Do They Know It's Christmas fiasco. He raised all that money and then donated it to the damn Ethiopian government run by a dictator who used the money to buy arms to destroy his enemies' farms.

Worst Christmas song ever is 'Christmas shoes' and it's not even close. Who the fuck writes a Christmas song about some poor kid trying to buy pretty shoes for his dying mother so she looks good when she 'meets Jesus tonight'. Just the thing to put one in a festive mood.
