I don't know how we managed to get ODU as a night game (8:00 PM ACCN) but I am not going to complain!

Nothing like a night game to kick off the season in Blacksburg!!! All day tailgate. WOOOO
Night game against ODU and Purdue is a nooner is not quite how I expected this to go.
No, but I will take it. Though a night game to kick off the season may kill us. All of us will be repeating the mantra "It's a marathon, not a
racesprint" when it comes to the day drinking. You mean "It's a marathon not a sprint." A marathon is still a race.
Thank you teacher.
You're welcome. <3
It may be marathon, but I'm still going to do my best Cole Beck impression.
*note, this is not comparing Cole to Forest, rather just a guy running fast for a long period of time.
In past years, logic would point to the reverse, but we all know logic went out the window long ago....
Those BIG teams love them some Noon kickoffs. Might need to get use to it...
So we'll be locking ODU's coaching staff in an elevator at about 9:45pm?
pls
No. Our engineers can come up with something more sophisticated than a frat boy prank.
Liquid heat on their jocks?
As a fair-skinned ass pocket, that early September night game is much appreciated.
You going to be bringing your fair-skinned ass pocket to that one? You know the crew would love to see you again.
Can't make any promises for most of them, but I am going to make all the games I can. Since ODU is Labor Day weekend, I'm sure I will make that one, though. I would love to see everyone as well. Haven't had enough Lot 18 in my life of late.
WOOOO!!! HAPPY DANCE!!!!
I think Big 10 games that include either Purdue or Northwestern have always been my traditional Saturday nap game, excluding 2015. Don't know how I'm going to stay awake.
So we need to plan breakfast, lunch and dinner for the tailgate....
For as much as noon starts sucked when I was in school, breakfast tailgates are incredible
All day tailgates are even better.
Used to do this for Nascar races in Richmond.... all day tailgates are the best. Especially if you or someone you know has a truck bed with a shell and you can nap-gate midday to rally now that I'm in my more senior years.
The night games against ODU haven't really worked out well for so far... so we're due... right? Right???
Believe the first loss was actually an afternoon kick FWIW
it finished under the lights, against their 4th (I think) string QB having his Heisman campaign announcement. That's all I remember.
Oof 11 am Central gonna be rough for all the Boilermakers round here and for Hokies trying to get to Bucktown
Three games in and no RSN?!?! LET'S GO!!!
HOKIES!!!
Good catch. I think this is the best news I've heard all day.

And we get the ACCCG 2 Dec!
Taking my boys to the ODU game. Enter Sandman at dusk should put them over the edge!!!!
Let's Go!!!!!!!
Come visit Lot 18! We will feed you!!!!!
Will the Rutgers game only be on the Big10 network? I've never had to look for viewing options for this channel.
Yep. Since it's @Rutgers the Big Ten has the broadcast rights. I think most of the bigger streaming services carry it. If you have cable and have the sports package you probably get it if you are in or in close proximity to Big Ten country. If you aren't in big ten country and have the sports package you may still be able to stream it with your cable login. My Dad has crapcast in Savannah and they stopped carrying it on his box, but he's still able to stream it through the fox sports app.
I'll be at the Rutgers game. 20 minute drive and 3:30 kick? Tailgate on!
🤝
I'll ask you about your plans when I see you Tuesday!

Streameast, don't give those tools any of your money or extra viewership
elaborate...
I use the online streams because I don't want to be counted as a viewer for the Big Ten network and therefore boost their ratings/give them revenue lol. And definitely would not ever pay for the network
It helps when the games are spread out over a 5 day weekend, and there are neutral site games that allow ABC to show SEC teams. We're solidly the 9th best ACC game of the weekend.
Bringing my 5-year-old twins to their first Hokie game this year. Picked ODU because there's no way that'll be a night game.
Welp. Guess you're staying up late, boys!
Yeah, the lack of an FCS game this year is really making it hard to schedule a game with kids.
Insert *you gonna learn today* gif. Beginning of the semester, long weekend, fair temps...yup.
They get fireworks for their first Hokie game. They'll love it!
Took a 3yo (and a -2 week old) to a night game vs Georgia Tech in 2012. It worked out fine. She was a bit cranky the next morning, but you makes your choices in life.
Edit: Damn, TSL photo gallery for that game is offline. It had a great shot of my then 3yo all dressed up in O&M. /sigh
who, the toddler or the 38-week pregnant wife?
In all fairness we did just go to a music festival and they stayed up until 10 two of the nights. If they can make it until halftime I'll be good. Either we'll be winning so I won't mind leaving, or we'll be losing and I'll be ready to go get shitfaced.
Also, the point above about the fireworks is a good one. Their first game should be a good environment given it's a night game and the first of the season. Hopefully it's not a total disaster.
How does 34-10 for the good guys sound to you. That is my prediction.
My attitude towards Hokie football for this fall is "I hope we win".
I hope we keep the last streak alive. Not getting shut out.

Saw 8pm and said bad words. Saw noon and also said bad words. Two hours away is just close enough to drive and not stay. Two hours away is also two hours away. Gonna have my ass kicked in different ways twice to start the season.
Three hours for my friend and I - we either drive and not stay....or if the tailgate was exremely...,"enthusiastic" , and it's a night game, we have slept in our car in lot 18 til 6am the next day.
Went from 2 hours away to 7. It's not going to be a fun transition.
We could play at 4am for all I care, just win the damn games
11pm-midnight starting time for tailgating? That could get fun- maybe a portable fire pit? /s sorta
I'd actually give it the old college try at least once!
I'd say start the tailgate before 11. That's not enough time
AM
Fully agree. But the other guy said start tailgating around 11pm-Midnight....
I was trying to be (somewhat) responsible adult....what the hell was I thinking??? 24 hour tailgate it is!
Where's the fun in that?
