Sometimes it wasn't pretty, but other times it was magnificent. He pushed through the pain and got back out there. And at the end of the day, it was enough.

I agree 110%. Motley played a hell of a game and impressed everyone. With that being said I think Brewer brings a lot of maturity and leadership to the huddle that could've made a big difference in the ECU and Pitt games. Still good to see Motley succeed.

I like a lot what I saw from Motley this evening. I would say, however, that there were a few things that I would have loved to see from him. He missed Bucky over the top a couple of times on (what looked like) the same route, and his long TD to Ford may have been a little late and/or underthrown.
So I think Motley still has room for improvement when it comes to accuracy, but I'm confident he'll get better with his increasing experience. A wrench may be thrown into the works when Brewer gets back, as I'd think Brewer is going to jump right back into starting, so Motley's in-game experience may hit the pause button later in the year. I hope we can still find the time to get him significant reps instead of just putting him in for running plays (but if we run a few options with him, I'll be fine with that, too).

Lol I made the comment last night, how do you overthrow 11ft tall wide open Bucky twice by 5 yards and yet hit 2ft tall Ford in stride between two defenders in the end zone.

I think Bucky is around Oliphant-sized now.
And Rogers? You just watch his block in the end zone last night while Motley hit Phillips on the comeback route and tell me he didn't say "Fly, you fools!"

Yup.
There was a woman about 3 rows behind me last night.
Right before that play , a number of NC guys left and there was open space there.
An older woman walked down and high 5d me because we'd been shouting in support of Sam throughout the game.
She was about the right age for a Grandmom and sorta looked like him.
I shoulda asked and didn't .
Prolly never know now.

If that pass would have connected and from my vantage it didn't seem like it missed by much, I think everyone would have gone nuts. Definitely has the arm strength, just needs more reps with the receivers.

Brewer set the bar awfully high in terms of ignoring pain and injury.

Motley definitely rose to the occasion. I'm betting the team will grow as a result of this, and they'll need to, as they face a pretty good Miami next weekend.

motley has surpassed my expectations and I am a homer for him ... Grad of CHS myself ... Many years before him lol.. To me lefty s system seems too complicated at times .. But motley has held his own and performed well it the action he has seen . Does tend to stare down receivers a bit but has the arm to still fit it in there. I would like to see some more rollout plays he seems more comfortable and freezes the db a bit cause they have to respect his running ability..

On at least one of those throws he was about to be knocked hard by an unblocked blizter he had to get rid of the ball faster.
Oh I know... Just found it amusing he missed the Jolly Green Giant twice but hit Gimli on the numbers on similar throws.
