With all that is going on with the breakdown of the UVA game, bowl game breakdown, new coaching hires, and changing of the guard, it may be a while for the mighty French and all the other great contributors here to break down Fuente's offensive strategy. (definitely take your time guys, we have all offseason!)
Here is a good time killer and look at what Fuente's offense looked like at Memphis against Ole Miss, who was #13 in the nation at the time.

Only seen 2 special teams plays so far, a kick returned past the 25 yard line and punt that was almost blocked by 2 Memphis players that resulted in a roughing the kicker violation. not too shabby.
That was close to being a legal hit and not a roughing the kicker. Roughing only applies within the tackle box, that punter was real close to being outside the box. That's what Fuente was pissed off about.
Loooots of throwing. I'm not sure what the run-pass distribution on that game was but it looked really unbalanced through 3.5 quarters
Looks like Ole Miss was keying on the run though. But Memphis was able to run enough to keep the passing game successfull. And if anyone watches New England's offense throwing short quick 3 yrds passes all night long that are pretty hard to stop and can be considered run plays to open something down the field when the defense creeps in tight.
Kinda fits Fuente's narrative though. Play to your strengths. Lynch is a hell of a QB and Memphis staff did a great job developing wide receivers.
Ole Miss also has a phenomenal D-Line, so passing made sense.

Their receivers are good after the catch, look like pretty good blockers too. Both important skills to teach if you throw a lot of screens.
I gotta say after watching this vid: Don't discount Motley as our starting QB for next year.
If he can pick up the new schemes, he has the arms & the legs to be very dangerous in this offense.
Also: Travon McMillian is a much better RB than what Fuente had to work with at Memphis.
I am very excited to see him in that O.

At about 3:40 in the 2nd you hear the commentators say "...Frank Beamer and Virginia Tech last season." Anyone know the context? (edit: probably an OSU reference)
