OT: I watched Memphis vs. Houston last night

on youtube, just about the whole game. I imagined what could be this coming year with a loaded Defensive and Offensive coaching staff. A missed field goal caused Memphis to lose but if our guys play with the effort the Memphis players did then it could be a good year, we have the talent to be better, only question is can Jerod Evans be Paxton Lynch, he can run unlike Lynch and should have a better line and a lot better weapons. The defensive line is good, the secondary should be better, but linebacker has me concerned though. I expect our kicker to be improved as well.

Seeing what Houston did to FSU gets me excited knowing we have a coach who almost beat them with Memphis and who did beat Ole Miss. The game is worth watching and Fuente seems to field teams that play with an attitude and go hard all 4 quarters. I know it is safe the say the energy is no longer stagnant as far as VT football is concerned and Fosters new look is proof, I will post the link to the game down below if anyone wants to watch it, hopefully that is not against the rules I have been off of here for some time.

Memphis has some good trick plays and Rogers, McMillian, Ford, Hodges, and Phillips could easily pull some of this off with Evans or Motley! I am excited and am going to watch more Memphis games and imagine with our Defensive players and staff and our Offensive players and these coaches what will be come this Fall! Get ready good times are ahead =)

Lynch can run. He's actually a very good runner for how big he is. Many commentators made note of that.

Onward and upward

I am going off what I see in this game and what I have seen of Evans film. I stand corrected, and sorry for the bad info and doubting Lynches abilities.

FIRST DOWN, HOKIES!

No no, it's alright. No need to apologize. Our QB this year is better than Paxton Lynch in every way.

Lynch actually does run pretty good in the game now that I am re-watching it, I just have Vick-like standards when it comes to running qb's...

Evans can run, but his passing will most definitely not be on the same level. I think we should all expect some growing pains this year. Fuente chose Lynch to start as an underclassmen in order to develop him. By his last year he was killing it. He was not, unfortunately, killing it his 1rst year.

But as you point out the weapons we have should be, and are, better than what Lynch had last year. That should be a difference maker with lower quality passing (compared to Lynch).

What we want to see this year I think is opportunistic passing created by the way Fuente's offense creates mismatches.
