So, the Songbird of our Generation will be performing at the National Championship game. As if you didn't have enough of a reason to go and watch us play for the Title.

I am very excited about this. Few artists have provided four straight albums that are so solid from start to finish as her run from Fearless to 1989. She gets a lot of stupid flack, but literally everyone I know who works in music as a career (by random chance I happen to know a lot), respects the hell out of her as an artist.
Hey, we got her before the Super Bowl did.
ESPN also played the shit out of her new song this past weekend.
I'm sure the licensing fee was pretty high, so they are going to get as many miles out of it as possible.
Snake.
Warning - some language and a gesture...
What's that you say Jimmy?
Until ND wins five games - these jokes are still on the table.
NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!
ESPN Refutes Report Taylor Swift Performing College Football National Championship Halftime
Well now I'm worried because I just bought tickets to the National Championship.
Can she just break up with her guitar already?
TAKE IT BACK!!!

Yeah, she's cute.
WOAH WOAH WOAH. She is well qualified! /s
So we have to listen to her cry about an ex boyfriend during halftime show of the national championship? Nah fam get some ZZ Top in there or Metallica. This is football!
Taylor Swift is fine by me. I couldn't care less about her or her music, but my daughter who I love dearly enjoys it. Its pretty harmless for the most part.
I will say that Swift seems to be playing people these days, and is a super savvy businesswoman. There are worse people for my daughter to pay attention to. If I wake up one day and my 5 year old is crushing it because she was empowered by watching a young woman run shit, then cool.
Dad power unite!
...I don't know about you, but
I'm feeling 22
You know. I worked at Kings Dominion for YEARS. I got tired of lots of the music there. But when I walked through KidZville and that was playing, that when I became a Taylor Swift fan. Very catchy. I used to time my walks through there just to hear it. That and Banana phone...
I worked there in the early days when it was Hanna-Barbera cartoon music. Listening to that at 7:00 am got a little old.
The Paramount era songs are engraved in my brain. That and the entire Sponge Bob Squarepants 4d movie. I can act it out and everything.
Days of thunder was better!
I would never presume to argue with you.
Let alone her countersuing the guy who grabbed her ass during a photo shoot, for total damages of $1, just to prove a point. If you haven't read about her testimony, it is highly worth the time.
Lawyer: If my client is grabbing you as you claim in this picture, why isn't your skirt bunched up in the front?
Swift: Because my ass is in the rear.
Elliott in the Morning followed it all for me so I didn't have to.
Her comments to the defense attorney about not letting him or his client blame her for his actions were fantastic.
Just using this as an excuse to post T-Swift gifs. Quite the fan of her blank space video.

Don't be hatin'

Dang it I know it's a long shot but why can't we get jr or sturgill or something not pop music for once, oh well looks like I'll be able to catch a quick nap in between our two halves beating Alabama into the oblivion!
Her two new songs are mindnumblingly awful. #FACTS
Hey come on who doesn't love Right said Fred?
My wife had 1 request to the DJ during the reception at our wedding. No Taylor Swift. Hard to argue with sound logic like that.
The overwhelming majority of people, including the professional music community strongly disagrees with you. She's a brilliant song writer admired by probably ALL the musicians you like.
That's nice
Her music still sucks, though
To you, sure.
She has no talent like everybody else now a days
She writes her own music (a seemingly rare skill in popular music these days) and writes music for other artists as well, several recent hits were her work. She just isn't out trying to take all the credit for it. Every professional musician I know (and by seriously random chance I know several) respects Taylor Swift, and that doesn't seem like "no talent" to me.
She just cries about getting dumped all the time that's some musical talent right there
Just simply not true. Also, it doesn't mean you can't write a good song about that concept. You can like what you like, but if you threw out that "no talent" comment around professional musicians you'd look like a moron, now whether you would mind that is another matter altogether. She's a professional musician who has exclusively or collaboratively written the music and lyrics of all of her songs. It takes legitimate talent to write music, and she's not some bimbo front lady with a team of writers behind her doing all the work.
If you want legit musical talent go back to 90s rock and 70s rock they put real effort into music
I like a lot of stuff from the 90's and 70's. I love Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac. My musical taste is pretty diverse. I just disagree with this silly "in the old days" fallacy where nothing new can possibly be good. Though I do understand it. My primary taste in music is about late nineties-2010 alternative rock like Brand New, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Manchester Orchestra, etc. It's been difficult for me to get into newer bands even of similar style. I also don't listen to the radio as I dislike most of the edm style of most popular music, though I do respect that it takes talent make that type of music.
Hey we got Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin going. I just don't get why pop music is so big even though people know they ain't putting much effort into it
And im going to say rock had some bad music especially during the Nu Metal era
But every music genre has some good music nu metal had A Perfect Circle Deftones Chevelle Incubus Slipknot etc
When you're alone all day and basically everyday you get used to it
I think you're taking this criticism of Swift a little too personally.
Probably but damn did the late 60s to the late 90s have really good music. I think it's the new generation that makes pop music so big but at least my ears have a sensor to know when I'm listening to music that doesn't put any effort into it
Can't we let bygones be bygones, agree to disagree, and just start jumping?!?!????
Well I'm not going to watch the halftime show
I'll say this..I could have cared less about her, but she had a concert in Houston before the super bowl that we had free VIP tickets for from work and she was absolutely amazing in concert. Probably one of the best shows I've ever been to, and I've been to plenty of concerts.
That'll be a long pee break for me that night.
I cannot stand listening to Taylor Swift sing live.
She was phenomenal in concert when I saw her in Atlanta two years ago.
Every single time I've heard her live on TV, she's been flat with subpar tone quality. Matter of fact, whenever I see her and she's on key, I know she's lip syncing.
I've never shelled out to see her in concert, so maybe she just mails it in for the award shows.
