Eric Gallo Photo after the Pitt Win

I've been just as hard in the kid as anyone, but this is an amazing photo and you really have to feel for the young man.

Really makes you remember that these are college kids, despite us all to often treating them as professionals. Everyone that has played competitive sports knows what it's like have to accept that your career is likely over, and there are few things in life more emotional.

Thank you to all the players that have contributed to my memories and happiness over the years, and thank you to everyone that joined me in Lane Saturday afternoon to show your appreciation for these young men.

"Welcome to the Terror Dome." -- Corey Moore

Powerful, helps put all of it into perspective for all of us out here behind the keyboard being critical of the young men doing what they love in life and how much it really means to them.

My hat is off to all the young men that work hard for Hokienation to cheer for on Saturdays. Thanks.

A poignant photo to say the least. Hats off to Eric and the crew of seniors for a hell of a game. It's been a frustrating season at times, but this definitely puts it in perspective the love these guys have for the game and VT. At least he gets one more at Lane North before all is said and done!

I'm glad they beat Pitt. They showed some grit and determination there.

Now, I hope they beat UVa for the regular season finish they deserve.

One of the most cliche yet accurate phrases I can remember from my coach for our final game was to "leave it all out on the field."

This is what that is a picture of and dammit, that kid knows he left it all out on the field. Go Hokies.

He also had his best game as a Hokie and has been much better this year than 2016. Also, I think if anyone had asked who would be the only multi-year starter for that class, I admittedly had Gallo as the most unlikely candidate. He has gotten the most out of his ability and that is all any fan who understands the game can ask.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

Cool to hear that he had such a good game. I didn't watch closely enough to realize that, but I do recall the announcers pointing out his block on some sort of run to the outside (I think he led the way for McClease). Best part, the announcers surprisingly got his name right.

Props to whoever that coach(?) is that came back out to hug him.

It's Bud per further down tweet. Hits the feels even more knowing it's not even his position coach. Truly shows the belief of family.

I thought it looked like Bud but I was skeptical considering Bud isn't an offensive coach. Pretty good example of team unity, for sure.

While I was also initially surprised that it was Bud and not an offensive coach, after some thought, I can't imagine a better coach on staff right now for that moment. In this age of college football we're lucky to have some coaches that truly love Virginia Tech.

Yeah I almost cried when I saw this last night, especially the second picture where Bud came out to give the guy a hug. I'm almost crying just typing about it now. Pretty amazing how much can be conveyed in a picture sometimes.

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

I deserved this.

"to accept that your career is likely over,"

Hold that train brutha, we have a bit more work to do -----> Oh yeah.....(Kool Aid Man enters)

I know these feels. My best friend and I couldn't make it off the field after our last game either.

i'm not in on the #sauces like others, but I hope he becomes a Hokie. Penn State and MD are going to be serious competition for his services

"It's too early for a leader," the 6-foot-4, 25-pound Gallo said. "I'm just trying to take in as much information as I can."

He's gonna have to put on some serious weight to make it at the D-1 level, or even just to withstand a slight breeze.

Yeah man, these pics really hit the spot. Just goes to show the love and sense of family that VT is really all about. Once a Hokie, always a Hokie. These seniors will be missed.

As if we needed another reason to continue loving Bud Foster. Hopefully this pic puts a lot of things in perspective for people.
