JUCO Corner Jeremy Webb commits to the Hokies

A few minutes ago on twitter, junior college corner Jeremy Webb committed to Virginia Tech. Webb, rated as a four star corner by 24/7 sports, had offers from WVU, Nebraska, Tennessee, and other schools.

With Greg Stroman and Brandon Facyson both exhausting their eligibility, Webb will be expected to come in and compete immediately for playing time at cornerback. He is a big (6'3) corner with good press man skills.

I read that he has 3 years to use those two. Which is nice if he gets hurt or doesn't get the defense fast enough. Won't have to waste a year.

Wow! So apparently when you go to bed at 8:30 on a Friday you miss things. This is awesome!! He is a big get that fills a need, welcome to the Hokies, Jeremy!

On a side note, I don't know how much influence the coaches have on when kids commit, but I feel like this is the second time we've had some commitments the day before a big recruiting weekend. Just seems like a great way to build excitement around the program, but maybe it's just a coincidence. Either way, this is a great start to a great weekend!!
