NEW YEAR'S EVE ROLL CALL!
Cheers to another great year of TKP by Joe and Team of putting out top notch coverage of all things TKP. Thank you all!
TKP'ers- what are your New Year's Eve plans for this evening?
For the 4VPISU household, we're hosting a party, and I've got ribs going on the smoker (it's damn cold out) at 2-3pm today, and enjoying a small bottle share with some friends. Kind of bummed there are no bowl games today (thanks NFL), but Buzzketball does play at 6pm tonight for some sports.
Also, anyone looking for a good adult card game for a party: "What Do You Meme?" is fantastic.

Having some friends over, getting some pizzas and beers, and watching the Panthers game and probably playing some cards or playing that other adult card game, the name of it has slipped my mind somehow.
Relaxing with some friends. Probably some board games.
Get the kids to bed and get in bed and see if I can stay awake till midnight.
Flying to Denver for a week of skiing and "family fun"
My old NYE tradition was to watch the movies I got for Christmas, waiting for midnight. I haven't been able to do that much in recent years due to work and bowl games. I'm also not sure if we're gonna let the 5 year old stay up, which could affect what and when we watch.
The five year old stayed up and we went with the original Power Rangers movie and the animated Beauty and the Beast. I made a weaver. And for some reason, I heard Jenny McCarthey say "dried bull penis" on TV last night.
Dogtown Roadhouse for live music and dancin' in the New Year!
Love Floyd! Me and a bud decided to ride our bikes up to Radford one sunday afternoon and got caught in some heavyyy rain on the way back and pulled into Dogtown to dry off. Nice joint.
How was Dogtown for NYE? Always enjoyed going out to Floyd when I lived in Blacksburg... and that place has some great pizza.
In Gloucester going to make seafood and drink Busch light while watching football. Not doing much outside because it's colder than Hoth.
Where in Gloucester are you? I moved into that new townhouse subdivion in Gloucester Point.
Right by Gloucester High School.
Kids will be asleep by 2030 or so, give up getting turned down by the wife by 2045, head downstairs and drink whiskey and watch whatever game is on and try to make it to midnight. Hurray for old people...
Sounds familiar! Except since it's New Year's Eve I'll "give er a go" until 2100.....
Try to stay awake in bed until midnight. If successful I will lightly wake up my wife, give her a quick kiss, and go right back to sleep.
Have a private event at the brewery until 9 then head home and binge watch something on TV with the wife until mid nite. Hit the hot tub for a while to celebrate then sleep, like the dead.
Having a black tie house party at our place after going out to dinner. Looking classy acting classless.
Quality time with my wife painting our new house and going to bed early once we're done.
Having some friends over for drinks and board games. No getting drunk for me though, got work in the am.
Leaving Billsburg now heading to Murrells Inlet, SC. Watching the game at 6. Snacking on game day food. Debate with myself how badly I want to play golf this week.
Where we playing?
It's up to you. I'm available Tuesday to Friday. Let me know when and where.
Was going to say Wednesday but now they are calling for an inch of snow. This place might shut down.
Crap. Just looked at the forecast. 1-3 inches possible. This could be as bad as Alabama when it snows.
Worse because we have so many old people and NJ/MD and DC retirees.
Happy new years TKP!
I just threw on some pork BBQ so I'm going to let that cook while I play a metric ton of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This evening I'm watching Buzzketball, and then tonight I'm taking my BBQ over to a friend's house for a party he's having. Should be a good day of video games, meat, (hopefully) a VT victory on the court, and friends.
Just finishing up a brew session now and then having friends over to drink lots of good beer. and play an unholy amount of board games.
Japanese steakhouse with some friends, then home to watch the recorded basketball game. Glad games are going to be on regular channels now.
Everyone is sick in our little household with a nasty cold that has been going around, when reading about Baker Mayfield's symptoms I told the Mrs. that he has the same thing we all have.
Funny enough the National Guard was outside of our home yesterday putting this sign up:
I will be snoring by 930 at the latest.
Ham is in the oven, we'll be watching the original (aka the good) Star Wars trilogy + Rogue One. Some family might stop by and we'll bust out the new Oregon Trail card game which is somehow even more brutal than the classic computer game.
Wife just checked into Orlando World Center, two athletes in line next to her...turns out one was our own Cam Goode...said he's excited to get to VT next year, here to play in All-American game. (Big dude, she said, and very pleasant.)
Go Hokies and Happy New Year!
27 years old and have never cared about New Years. Always heard what your doing on New Year's Eve is what you'll be doing for the new year, hopefully it's sleeping.
New Years eve party at the cburg moose lodge, drinkin, dancing, hopefully make it to midnite. Happy new year TKP! U all r the best!
Question: is anybody STILL drunk from Christmas Eve & just decided "fuck it, I'll just finish off this year and start off the new one intoxicated"?
It tried but, it didn't take.
Im still up at 10:30!
Happy New Years all you bastards! Great site!
Happy New Years! FAM!!!! GET LIT!!! GO HOKIES!!!
We are now undefeated in 2018! Happy New Year FAM!
Happy New Year!
Just got off duty, about to drive home and it's freezing. Someone brought some sparkling grape (edit: juice) down to the plant last night but I was passed out (edit: sober) in my office chair already. Got two days off now though!
Well, I hope you all had a blast. Me, I'm prepping for my colonoscopy tomorrow. Needless to say, I didn't have much fun yesterday, and will have to save it all up for Buzzketball's whooping loluva Wednesday.
Hope you didn't eat too heavy yesterday.
Good for you; Git 'er done!
Hope it's normal and you can cross it off the to do list for years to come.
Thanks for the good wishes. This'll be my third. I'm currently on the three year plan. Them damn polyps'll get after ya. Pretty inconvenient, but not as inconvenient as colon cancer.
Cheese & crackers, yowza! Sorry to hear about that. Hope the room is (mostly) noise-proof. Otherwise it'll sound as if yer gettin bent over & fisted by a gorilla. Hope everything in there is as it should.
I'm on the 3 year plan too! My friends father ate a giant burrito the night before. Bad...very bad!
There is a trick. Say your procedure is on Friday. You eat regular Monday, you don't eat heavy foods like red meat on Tuesday, Wednesday you eat very light with LOTS OF WATER the whole week but especially that day. Thursday prep day is flushing out almost nothing and it's easy.
I followed the prep religiously, low residue diet, etc. and drank a lot of water. Stupidly let myself agree to a Jan 2 procedure, so NYEve was boring and NY day even more so. Anyway, came through ok and am now on the 5 year plan. Hate to do that stuff, and I'm not one to always take the doctor's advice religiously, but I do firmly believe in doing the important preventative tests and screenings that can catch the bad stuff while it still might be able to be dealt with. I'm pretty sure that whatever ends up getting me, I'll be thinking I could've done more to prevent it, but I could also get hit by a falling tree limb tomorrow.
My girlfriend, my friends and I got drunk and had a Star Wars marathon.
I'm a nerd.
my fingers got a little cold, but we had a good time
But the electronics sound so crisp when they're cold....
Is that a Warwick?
