If you could have the entire team back from last year, do you think the entire 2-deep would be the same, or would you promote some of the younger players above the returners?
eg: The way Bud explains it (i'm sure it's a lot of coach speak), seems like maybe Dax would be the starter over Motu? Maybe have Hazelton start at WR opposite of Cam? etc.

I think dax can start over asby but I don't think he would have started over moto or even beckett. hunter too. there is NO one on our current roster I would start over any of the guys last year that would still be here if not for graduating. the only one with a chance is hunter by moving mook and that's because of the injury to webb.

I'm pretty confident that Hunter would've started over Mook regardless of whether he was still here or not. Hunter can do some things that Mook can not.
I am so excited to him play with some meaningful time under his belt.

In no world is Floyd a better Rover than Edmunds. The line up changed to Deablo at Safety and Edmunds at Rover until Deablo broke his foot. If you think Floyd is better than a first round draft pick you are kidding yourself.
Skinny Rell = free, Beefy Rell = Rover.
I'm still not sold on Nijman at RT and Silas at LT. I know the coaches say that Silas is more comfortable at LT, but Nijman is our best offensive lineman and just happens to have spent his entire career at LT. I would like Jackson's blindside to be solid.

Ill take Rivers, Ashby or Dax over Moto. obvi I haven't seen the others play but I'm convinced Dax and Rivers will be the next Adibi/Hall.
In a year or two maybe. In their current form, they are not going to be better than Motuapuaka. We are going to see our fair share of growing pains before they surpass the level of an entrenched starter.
I understand they will likely not be better than a senior Motu, but will they be better (or more serviceable) than, let's say, a 2nd yr Motu? The incoming talent and pure athleticism? I'm not insinuating that I think they will be (I cannot evaluate talent on a football field), just an honest question. Do they have the ability to overcome the inconsistencies of a first year starting LB to be better?
I think there is a good chance they are more athletic. The mental side of it will be a wait and see but it wouldn't surprise me if they play at or slightly above that 2nd year level. The ceiling feels way higher on some of these players and it's really exciting to think about 2019/2020.
