Happy Holidays, UVA!See which Hoos showed up for a holiday selfie with @presjimryan! (Turn it up!) pic.twitter.com/KLk1fyWquN— UVA (@UVA) December 6, 2018
I think my favorite part is the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. It was nice of them to bring UMBC also.

God, this is awful.
My favorite part is either the ridiculous person making a snow angel on the bricks in what would be generously described as a "flurry" ... OR ... the box that says "hope" on the desk, after 15 years, eventually all you have left is hope, I guess.
Give them a break, they're just trying out for the football team.
You know what they say about hopes...
This isn't THAT bad... they have definitely done much worse
That's a golden retriever, not a CBR.
Eh, typical Christmas stuff - I don't really see anything wrong with it.
The good boy is the best part though.
Really? Mopeds?
The athletes seriously drive them aroud campus....I mean grounds.
More people at the Rotunda in 10 mins than they can get to their spring game.
Hoo cares?
Why are we watching Hoo propaganda?
We beat them in football. There's no reason to think about them again until we play them in basketball.
Surprised the Bus didn't break down when that woman told it to turn around. They would gotten a like from me if it did.
First thing I thought of when she said 'Turn this bus around'.
I could not tell based on his turtleneck whether he was going to an impromptu photoshoot at the Rotunda or to a LOLUVA Tailgate. bwhahahaha
Typical weak city, panzy nanzy LOLUVA.
Did anyone else notice that the bookstore, where you could buy UVA fan gear and show school spirit, was empty?
Did their mascot steal all that stuff?
Why mopeds I thought they had rickshaws?
Wht are the car windows all down? Isnt it cold in Charlottesville?
Ah yes the selfie stick, when you are too annoying that other people won't be polite enough to take a picture of you.
Edit: Who gives everyone only ten minutes notice to get somewhere?
I thought it was cool they had UMBC's mascot in the video.
They should have had Cavman fall off the Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
From a video nerd perspective, the storyline sucked but it was well-made from a technical standpoint. They've got some good gear there. But yeah the concept is stupid.
I used to be on the ECU video team and these shoots that were just for the chancellor were the worst, especially when they took as much time as something like this one did.
Couple of thoughts:
The video isn't that bad - nice effort UVA.
But, BUT - if i were invited by the school president for the selfie picture, I'd be thoroughly pissed that Cavman took up 25% of the photo in the end.

It's symbolism; cavman represents the amount egocentrism uva students must possess in order to be a true hoo
needs the LOLUVA players doing snow angels (can't find the gif)
Looks like they buy their firewood at the grocery store...that stuff in shrink wrap. They probably pick it up in a Honda Ridgeline. It's so easy to pick on the Wahoos. Tis' the joy of the season!!
If we're looking at tweets related to UVa football, this one seems MUCH more interesting to me. Not for ridicule, but a positive thing they do for their community. "Thursday's Hero", where they invite an individual who has overcome something, and make them feel special for a day.
Thursday's Hero
This is fantastic!
I don't see anything wrong with this. It's a cute idea. If we did something like this with Fuente and the Hokie Bird we'd all be lapping it up.
Yes because like Sprinkles fun things are for winners.
OK, THAT's how you do a video.
As a Hokie who works for UVA there is nothing wrong with this. There is no need to ridicule them over making a Christmas video.
No, there's nothing wrong with it.
I just wonder why we'd watch it.
We can make corny (hee hee) videos ourselves.
In fact, we have. The police department one, and the Frank Beamer stuff come to mind. I expect to see more of this as the audio visual departments start to use all that video equipment and facilities we've been investing in.
Yeah exactly. Absolutely no reason to have a tread mocking.
It's not as much mocking as pointing out the Cavman was being an asshole and buying everyone candles. The hokiebird would buy much better gifts than a candle, which is to say just about anything.
After our spectacular, amateur'ish videos we've shown during football games "touting" our school - we have nothing to complain about.
I expect to see a lot more of this from all of the ACC teams.
If you've ever seen the home-grown commercials at the Army-Navy bowl, you know they can be pretty good, particularly if they're insulting the other team.
I have not seen the "home-grown commercials" to which you are referring, but I have to following observation: I have heard the game announcers and fellow service members talk about the intense rivalry in the game but also about the cross-service brotherhood that transcends the game. The rivalry maybe akin to fights between siblings that can be pretty vicious but those same people will unite if an outsider tries to do anything against the sibling they were just trying to "destroy."
I have seen the hard ribbing (insulting??) comments between the services but I know there are members that (literally) put themselves between others and a bullet. Again, not having seen the commercials, I may just be reacting to the word "insulting".
