On November 27, 2004 Virginia Tech beat Virginia 24-10 to win back the Commonwealth Cup. Virginia hasn't possessed the cup since. Counting the day Tech won it back, today is the 3,000th day of continuos possession for the Hokies. If you're a purist, and want to count full days, or time since the final whistle, then you're celebrating 3,000 at some point tomorrow. Either way, it's been such a long time it took math to figure out. Or in other words...

Regardless, such an occasion calls for pictures.

I had an old boss in Blacksburg who had a picture of VT fans storming the field at Scott Stadium in the 80s and tearing down the goal posts. I think this was before my time, but does anyone have a picture of it?

I remember that picture from 2004 caused a big uproar down in Miami, because we had only clinched a share of the ACC Championship after beating UVA. All the papers down there were saying Miami was super pissed (they could claim a share of the championship and the BCS bid with a win over us to end the season) and they were using it as motivation. Then we beat them too.

HAHAHAHAHA bitches.

UVA Logic

First, UVA fans' logic that the 3,000 and counting days of possessing the Commonwealth Cup is a cover up of how bad the basketball team is? What the eff? Let's see...Virginia Tech fielded the worse team in 20 years and still beat LOLUVA, 20-17 thanks to Mike London and his infamous Clock Management Technique.

Started the game right where he needed to be. On the bench. Golf clap for JJ.
Erick looked a little gassed and was missing everything until his string of threes. Wasn't expecting a win, but they should have made it closer. EG is like 3 or 4 inches taller than the uva pg and should have had a better shooting night. JJ needed to learn from the first game that you need someone like wood or green on joe harris. CJ never sticks near his man and everyone else was just mismatched height wise.

The next two home games for women's and men's are against duke, so it could be back to back ugly thursday nights.
