The 6-6 255 tackle from Riverbend High School in Fredericksburg committed during his visit to Virginia Tech today. He should be the last offensive lineman taken for the 2012 class.

Is there a reason we cannot seem to land above 3 star talent for our line? I know this positition is questionable with star ratings, but it certainly can't hurt to find some higher ranked recruits. Same with every other position...it really does seem to be quantity over quality this year.
I disagree...
Personally, I think it speaks volumes that these last two linemen were offered after extensive in-person evaluations with the coaching staff. We've out-scouted the star rankings for years, and we as fans have no reason to think that these two young men are anything but sleepers. There is six months until signing day and most of the nations recruits remain available. None of these recruits were a second option at this point in the season; they were all offered because the staff want them to wear maroon and orange. The coaches didn't send out offers earlier than any other year... 23 student-athletes decided to end their search early and join Hokie Nation before the boat got full.

I like that the whole O-line is gonna be larger guys. Once they get 30lbs+ on them it will be a wall. Tech always turns these 3 star guys into 4 and 5 star within one season from what I have seen. I think they get guys that want to play for VT than to be sweet talked and smoke blown where the sun dont shine. I personally like the guys that look forward to comming to vt than to have 50 offers from all the huge named cheater schools and come in with a chip on their shoulders.
