Is it wrong that I always picture Happy Gilmore when we beat an ACC blueblood in a non-revenue sport?

Way to go, Hokies!

probably in this case since tennis >>> golf

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Yeah but there aren't any great "regular Joe bitchslaps hoity toity blueblood douchebags at their own game" tennis movies.

My cousin was on the men's team in the mid/late 90's, so this is super cool. As someone whose first sports love was tennis (I loved to play tennis until my shoulder couldn't handle hitting spin serves anymore) this is a huge story!

I think I pulled something playing Wii Tennis once...

Either from wear and year coming from serving (tennis was a big part of my summer conditioning for football) or wear and tear from football/bench press, I started having bad shoulder pain. When I would hit a serve around 26 years old, I could hit 10 and be fine, and then the 11th was like a gun shot going off in my shoulder. I went to an orthopedist and was diagnosed with biciepital tendonitis. It never has gotten better even with a ton of rest (I don't do any kind of chest press or tennis stuff.)

That sounds very similar to my shoulder injury. After lifting weights and hitting big serves and kick serves all summer my labrum gave out and tore. I got surgery, but it's still not right. Serves and even throwing a football aren't the same.

I have pain throwing as well, especially a baseball or softball.

Kick serves have killed my shoulder too. Thankfully we diagnosed it early enough and after a year of strengthening and time off everything should be okay now. At least I hope it will.

I'm sorry not everyone is so lucky. Does everyone else have this issue?

awesome. Hokies moving on up in lots of sports. love it

I was surprised and very excited when I saw this post- that is an awesome win for the program. After clicking the link, it got even better... the match score was 6-1! After losing the doubles point, Tech swept singles... wow. For those of you who may not be terribly familiar with tennis, that's a big deal and something that I'm fairly certain Duke isn't used to having happen to them. Congrats to the men's tennis team.
