Bitter blog - Some good, some bad for Hokies in occasionally sloppy scrimmage

1 out of every 6 snaps a penalty and 10 stops behind the line. It's early but got to clean that up.

Watching from a granted iphone live stream it seemed like the majority of those penalties were not against first team guys.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Some of those ten tackles for loss, the defense really benefited that they're quick with the whistles in scrimmages. There was a lot of fight for YAC from the O.

True that, but it has nothing to do with the o line blocking. Backs should not be fighting to get to the LOS. They should not be getting hit before they even get going. That is entirely too much penetration. The whistle works both ways during scrimmage D players are scared to death of getting a late hit or a accidental hit on the QB so they really pull up in those cases.

I guarantee you those guys on D could care less about the earlier whistles. The only way they modify their tackling at all is to only give the QB a quick pat on the hips as they go by.

They've practiced in pads 3 times. It'll get better.

I'm giving hubby plenty of notice -- he has until July to find a 34 jersey for my birthday. And he says I'm difficult to shop for . . .

"Tajh Boyd over the middle . . . and it's caught for an interception! Michael Cole, lying flat on his back, ARE YOU KIDDING???"

Shouldn't be to hard to find a vintage R Dub!

Every second counts

This would do nicely. I had somehow forgotten this jersey style and had to look up R**W pics to authenticate. (Sorry y'all, I'm an engineer. I am weird.)

Side note: Methinks Travon's gonna do this baby proud. He'll have his own TKP nickname by mid-season.
Side-side note: my iPad tries to auto-correct "side note" into "side toe". That is weird. Do they give out especially weird versions to engineers or something?

This is one of my favorite styles of jersey. It has a nice balance of maroon and orange. The away jersey would look great with a white center and maroon sides/sleeves.

Side-note to your side-note: Let's hope you never have to try to type "camel note".
