The unveiled the trophy for the new playoff system.
Any thoughts (besides how good it would look in Blacksburg?)
At first glance, I thought it looked like a Georgia O'Keefe painting in that it makes the football look like a certain part of a woman's anatomy, but my mind has always tended to lean towards the sophomoric.

Per the VT Athletics Facebook page:

Looks like more evidence that Whit was serious about fan experience and connection. No real details yet, but mark it on your calendars, Hokie fans!

Just got to talk with Ferrell Edmunds (dad/coach of Hokies Trey and Terrell) about the new potential Hokie in the family, Tremaine, and couldn't resist asking about how Trey's leg was feeling.
He said that he thought Trey is about 90% right now, which seems about in line with what everyone in the program has said so far.
He also added he'd be a full participant in the team's preseason practices.
So not surprising news by any stretch, but still nice to hear about a guy that could take the offense to another level next year.

We all know the VT offense has never been a consistent juggernaut. We've had ups and downs but Beamer has always seemed to prefer a ball control offense first and not necessarily seemed to worry about constantly have big threats that can score from anywhere, anytime. And I don't think there's anything wrong with it, Beamer has won lots and lots of games with his philosophy.
But...I remember a home game vs. Syracuse. Might have been 2001? We lost. Something like 21-14? The whole game the team just couldn't run the ball. I remember a few goal line stands by Syracuse where we just couldn't stick it in.

Jesus take the Wheel
In other news Jesus Wilson an FSU football player decided it would be a good idea to steal a moped and not only did he steal it he went Grand Theft Auto and crashed it/totaled it. He posted bail and later was seen inside publix with Jameis... <--- just kidding.

It looks like Hokiesports has updated the heights and weights of new enrollees. That obviously means it's time to read way too much into this new information!
Yes, I am also excited.
Check it out here
Notes from 1st read through:
1. Mihota is listed at DE again.
2. DJ Reid is bigger than I thought he'd be (229lbs).
3. They incorrectly list Bucky Hodges at 6'6" when we all know he is well over 8' by now.

With all the excitement about recruiting misses, upcoming season, etc., I figured I'd try to start a more light-hearted discussion about drinking. Specifically for games at Lane.
I've also seen some pretty creative ways to smuggle in the good stuff. Was wondering what everyone's favorite methods are, and what their favorite things to smuggle in are. I've had zip-loc bags of wild turkey taped to my legs, airplane bottles in my shorts, or even stuffed in the toes of my boots (bought cheap oversized walmart boots specifically to have extra space!).
And for those of us that are more advanced smugglers, I recently found some more ideas, such as:

In this exchange on Twitter, it looks like Whit is suggesting something many of us would love for the game against Miami on Thursday night, 10/23:
