K Will Love commits to the Hokies
Younger brother of John Love
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

In super cool and fun NIL developments, at the college level we now have contract negotiation holdouts ๐
Sources: Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee spring practice today. He's been in conversations with Tennessee about a new contract. The no-show of practice came as a surprise. pic.twitter.com/VXsXTPDZpuโ Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) April 11, 2025
If I'm Tennessee, I think I'm leaning towards wishing him luck and cutting ties, as suggested my Matt Hayes in this article:
Not sure how many of y'all planned on going tomorrow, but just so nobody's surprised like we were (and especially if you plan on bringing the kids), apparently there will be no Hokie Village for the kids tomorrow.
As well, the East Stands/East Concourse and Concessions will be closed; seating will be limited to the NEZ, bottom bowl of the SEZ, and West Stands.
With them charging this year for the tickets, as well as parking passes for certain lots, we were a bit shocked. Especially with the fact that there won't be a Hokie Village experience this year. There are probably people coming, like us, who have no idea.
A Study In Decline: The Virginia Tech Hokies
I don't know why this is in the Texas Longhorns section, it's worthy of being on their main page.
And before you start, just know it's absolutely scathing to our entire athletic department in their absolute failure to keep us a relevant program post Beamer.
What happened? Was it simply the loss of a once-in-a-lifetime coach?
At one level, yes. The financial and organizational realities of college football caught up to a quaint personality cult.
Well I thought this was an April Fool's day joke but apparently it is real. FREE CONCESSIONS at Coastal Carolina!? I think VT should take note of this. At the very least offer it for some games and/or half off beer.

We are getting slow around here. Saw this earlier. It sounds like he will be back by early summer, and that they consulted some serious people on the procedure.

Looks like Tech is hosting their Pro Day today. 17 total guys participating in one form or another. Could be a good opportunity for some of our Hokies, like Gosnell and Moore, to strengthen cases for UDFA status come the fall
Not really sure how to track performance but figured this could be a place to discuss any potential risers and standouts.
Players participating:
Tuten -RB
Lane - WR
Felton - WR
Jennings - WR
Gosnell - WR
APR - DL
Peebles - DL
Fuga - DL
Nelson - DL
Pene - DL
Strong - DB
Jenkins - DB
Jones - DB
Schlee - QB
Clements - OL
Kaden Moore - OL
Peter Moore - P
Would cover a good chunk of the annual $20.5 million in revenue sharing that'll start going to players starting this summer. #Hokies had first year's money secured. Were looking for ways to firm that up for future seasons. https://t.co/XftPhdi00nโ Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) March 18, 2025
Ticketing information can be found here: Hokiesports.com
Ticket Information
Xavier Adibi - ILB Coach
Brent Davis - TE Coach

So how do we feel about these new announcements:
Cannon Montgomery - Assistant RBs coach
Brian Whitehead - Nickels coach
Jireh Wilson - Edges coach
Jens Danielsen was also announced, but we knew about him.
Definitely some youth with RB and Edge.
The NFL offseason is heating up, and we have our first Hokie news. Brock Hoffman re-signs with the Cowboys for undisclosed terms. He was an exclusive-rights free agent, and is expected to compete at right guard to replace the retiring Zack Martin.

Couldn't find a previous post or one this fit, so...
Tuten went off at the combine.
Peebles and APR had noteworthy performances too

For comparison
What started as Texas canceling theirs due to the portal is beginning to snowball a bit to a growing trend across the football landscape of high profile schools canceling theirs (Texas, Ohio State, Southern Cal and Nebraska), and now we are even seeing it happen with some others. Just this morning, Dave Doeren has confirmed that all spring practices will be closed to the public this year, which includes a cancellation of the Spring Game.
Thought we could have a running thread for assistants. Not sure if each assistant needs its own thread.
I'll update as more names drop

Yikes! Seems like a bad idea.
Christian Taylor, an assistant with the Bills and former OC at William and Mary is being targeted for the OC job. Same mold as the DC, relatively unknown, been a coordinator at a lower level, has NFL experience and is considered innovative.

He will be the associate director of strength and conditioning with nearly 20 years of experience in the field.
He was a Hokie from 2002-2006.
The part of his background I found most interesting was his time at Camp Lejeune training Marines Special Operators.
