Gennaro DiNapoli arrested on drug charges

Sometimes, you like to hear blast-from-the-past names to bring back happy memories of Tech teams from the past. This is not one of those times.

DiNapoli, an offensive lineman who was drafted by the Raiders in the 4th round in 1998, was busted selling Oxycodone to undercover DEA agents in April and May. He carved out a nice little career that included some starting time at C and G for the Raiders, Titans and Cowboys from 1998-2004.

Hokies hire new Assistant QB coach - Quinn Schafer

Not really able to find much on the guy. This appears to be his first ever coaching job from what I can see, but he's very young. Played QB at Valpo til he graduated in 2013, but saw very little playing time. (Career stats: 17 completions over 45 attempts for 224 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs)

If you want to follow him on twitter, you can find him at @coachschafer11

Division 4?

Was just reading some NCAA news and saw that the power 5 want autonomy, or there may be a division 4. Even mentioned more pressure on independents (probably meaning ND full membership). Was hoping to see some TKP input/news but didn't see anything. Anyone up on what is going on here?

Luther Maddy, One of the Best defensive Linemen on Campus in 2014.

Not too surprising to Hokie fans, but Luther Maddy has been named one of the best defensive linemen on campus. He is one of the Hokie players that flirted with the NFL draft and decided to come back. Hopefully, he will be able to wreak havoc against opposing teams and improve his NFL stock. Im glad big Luther is back on campus.

Bo Pelini: Slow recruiting process

Article here.

Pelini thinks high school players should be able to sign with teams as soon as they receive scholarship offers.

I happen to agree with him. Thoughts?

Eleven Warriors (tOSU blog) interview with Coach Beamer

Pretty interesting and impressive interview with CFB from the Ohio State football blog Eleven Warriors. Definitely worth the read. Found this on r/CFB so if you've seen this before I apologize. The comments section from OSU fans is pretty great too, it seems most fans respect CFB and are excited for our matchup.

Phil Steele's 2014 Preseason All-ACC Team

College football prognosticator extraordinaire Phil Steele released his Preseason All-ACC Team this afternoon. Ten Hokies made the squad. Tech's headliners were Luther Maddy at DT, and Kendall Fuller at CB (obvious selections). Florida State dominated Steele's selections. Did anyone expect anything different? Does anyone have any grievances?

Corey Marshall: a team player and defensive weapon

In his recent interview with ESPN, spring defensive MVP, Corey Marshall describes himself as a defensive weapon. Corey sounds like he is in a good place right now. He is a team player who is willing to allow coach Wiles and coach Foster to take advantage of his talent wherever they see fit. He is up to 255 pounds and is hoping to get to 270 when season starts. With Luther Maddy, Dadi Nicolas, Corey Marshall, Ken Ekanem , and the best secondary in the nation, the Hokie defense could be really special this year.
What else will it take to bring the Virginia Tech Hokies to elite level?
