Looks like he will have a hand in recruiting, as well as a role in connecting with our current and former pro athletes (i.e. $$$). Welcome back to the AD, KJ!
EDIT: His job title makes me think of this guy:
SportsOnEarth.com's Michael Weinreb wrote an article listing a program in each conference he'd least like to be a fan of at this juncture of his existence: http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/79495344/least-hopeful-teams-in-the....
Atlantic Coast Conference: Virginia
Five-Year Record: 21-40. Average 2013 attendance: 46,279. Stadium capacity: 61,500.
My husband is currently deployed again, and I would like to send him some of the preview magazines for this college football season. Any of y'all have recommendations for which ones I should get? Maybe ones that feature Tech articles? Thanks!
In preparation for his annual charity event in Hampton Roads, Mike Vick gave an interview with David Teel in which he claimed to be the trendsetter for QBs such as Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, and Andrew Luck among others. For some reason, this season Vick finds himself as Geno Smiths back with the New York Jets.
As a player who paved the way for so many successful QBs and who gave defensive coordinators nightmares preparing for his game, is Michael underappreciated in the NFL?

So with Melvin, Amo, and Kendall recruiting him I like our chances.
Uplifting comeback.. kid is talented and disappointing we did not have him last couple of years. Prototype size and athletic.. would have been a gem on the team

It's like salt in a wound.
Is there anyone else out there who finds "futbol" inferior, flamboyant, and utterly uninteresting?
I grew up in Christiansburg from 1982-1992 and have many great memories of going to VT games as a kid. Watching BRUCE!, sneaking into games as my dad was a volunteer ticket-taker, sitting wherever me and my friends wanted (there were plenty of empties), etc.
At long last, the finish line:

Shane Beamer believes that the biggest need for Virginia Tech in the 2015 class is defensive line. With about 5 seniors graduating this year, the Hokies are also in need of offensive linemen. The 2015 recruiting class is loaded with defensive and offensive linemen. Hopefully, they are paying attention and are looking for early playing time at an elite program like Virginia Tech.

I am a long time Tech football fan from Michigan that is going to come down to the Miami game this year (been on my list for about 20 years!). Thursday night ESPN, Miami, can't wait!!! I am having a hard time finding info on where visiting team fans sit (I don't want to buy my ticket on Stubhub, drive down, and end up in the wrong section). I would love any feedback or suggestions as to where I should try to sit that would not be in the middle of a bunch of Miami fans. I am not as young as I used to be so the student section(s) would not be my first choice either.
Thanks in advance!
It seems like Drew Harris has found a college. After spending two years at a Junior College, he signed with UMass. Hopefully, he has put his academic setbacks behind him. Good luck to Drew!

Over the years, Virginia Tech Hokies sport affiliates have provided memorable quotes that keep Hokie nation entertained during and after games. Players, coaches, alumni, and administrators have all contributed to this ongoing trend. Each fan has his/her own memorable quote. One of my favorite is coach Beamer saying, "the further away you are from the ball, the better your chances of seeing the field". And, "weve got as loud a stadium as any college football team in the nation."
What are your favorite memorable quotes from a Virginia Tech Hokie?
Folks,
Just a heads up.. anyone w boys who are passionate about hoops should take a look. Last year we traveled from out of state and had a blast.. JJ, the players and assistant coaches were hands on and incredibly kind to my boys. I can only imagine that Buzz's staff and team will be the same way.
My kids stayed late pretty much everyday and watched open practice w the team. The incoming freshman were there practicing too and were fantastic.. Trevor Thompson, Ben, Devin, Malik all of them.. Ben can sky like crazy and was performing "dunk city" type drills.. for kids who dont get to see this stuff close up, they were all over it.
