
This season Bud Foster is tasked to replace both of the Hokies' inside linebackers. Andrew Motuapuaka was a respected team leader, started 42 games, and had Foster's trust to hold down the mike linebacker spot. Foster has transitioned, with vary degrees of success, from-and-to a string of non-ballyhooed mikes — Jack Tyler, Chase Williams, and finally Motuapuaka. Former backer Tremaine Edmunds is a generational talent. For the first time, Edmunds early departure to the NFL requires Foster to replace a first round talent at linebacker.
