Countdown 100: The last day of Triple Digits

🚨 There are 100 days until Virginia Tech football. 🚨

There are 100 days until Virginia Tech football plays at Florida State.

There's a myriad of memories the Seminoles may evoke. From Tech's national championship bid being busted up in the Big Easy, to the Hokies wrapping up an undefeated conference slate with an ACC Championship. But for me, my brain is always drawn to third-and-31.

Perhaps because it was arguably Tyrod Taylor's first Superman moment. Cue a 1940s newscaster: Able to overcome conservative play calling with a single rush!

"Third down and... thirty-one."

"That's a long way."

"That's a long way to go."

That's a broadcasters' tag team of dismissive hand wanking motion with regard to first down conversion.

Taylor begins 5 yards in the hole and then proceeds to pickup 38.

From the sideline angle, watch how Taylor delicately weaves his way through box. The collision of the two FSU defenders towards the end is the cherry on top.

The third and 31 conversion was the moment I KNEW Tech was going to win that game. Let's Go!!

Itchin' for some hype videos!

fuck I miss Tyrod

EDIT: I'm so excites we are getting closer to football season 🏈

Let's Go

I love VT. I love TKP. Ready for football season!

100 days seems like a long time.

I just remember the amount of pelvic thrusting and condescending tomahawk chopping I did at the acccg in charlotte back in 2010. Those were good times.

I miss those times. Fuck FSU.

Same here and I was sitting in the FSU section!

Also, Danny Coale is still open on a crossing route

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

Branden Ore downfield blocking gets him the last bit of that yardage. Man, why did that guy have to be a fuck up. He was such a great running back.

For me it's gotta be the 2010 ACCCG, one of the most fun games I've been to. Best part was when we were in the red zone and Tyrod was scrambling around trying to find someone and he somehow weaves his way through and walks in the end zone. Tyrod dominated that game

I'd like to celebrate a new topic atop the threads.

Anyhow, that game was amazing. I'm pretty sure there was a hit in FSUs QB in that game that completely leveled him late. I may be mistaken.

Speaking of QBs and our first game in just gonna go ahead and assume coach speak and that we won't know a starter until game week.

Brandon Flowers destroyed Drew Weatherford in the 2007 game. Kam whacked a dude also.

Leonard. Duh.

I can still hear the crack of those pads. Between that and the Darren Evans truckstick, easily the two loudest hits I've ever heard.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

I think what Tyrod did on this run is what CJF was referring to when he said he is looking for a running back who can make the unblocked guy miss. He never seemed to have that top speed gear (like MV1) but he had "more moves than Ex-Lax."

Any idea what position Dejuan Ellis might end up at? I know they're going to give him a chance a quarterback but we know how that goes more often than not. He's got great open field ability, speed, and vision and seems like he has the frame to put on some more muscle. Any chance he can compete at RB or is DB/WR more likely?

DB is hurting right now, so he could end up there when camp starts.

However, I see him as a slot receiver. Quick screens, slants, sweeps, etc. and get him in the open field.
