As requested, I have put together an NIT bracket of war movies for the tourneyphiliacs out there. These were those movies I've seen that were good, but not quite good enough for the championship bracket in my eyes. Maybe they just lost their conference tournament from a small conference.
In any event, and without further ado, here is the western (World War 2) bracket of the War Movie NIT
Match 1:
#1 Twelve O'Clock High vs
#8 1939: The Battle of Westerplatte
Match 2:
#4 In Harm's Way vs
#5 Raid on Rommel
Match 3:
#3 The Battle of the Bulge vs
#6 The Caine Mutiny
Match 4:
#2 Letters from Iwo Jima vs
#7 A Wing and A Prayer
Match 5:
#1 The Big Red One vs
#8 Mister Roberts
Match 6:
#4 Flying Tigers vs
#5 They Were Expendable
Match 7:
#3 Inglorious Basterds vs
#6 The King's Choice
Match 8:
#2 Flags of Our Fathers vs
#7 Chips, The War Dog
Voting is Live and will be so until Wednesday morning.

Comments
Okay this feels like a VT like bubble snub from the NCAA tournament but Flags of our fathers is an epic movie well deserving of a #1 seed.
Yeah, only 3 from the 2000s World War 2 Conference were selected to the big dance, those being Dunkirk, The Great Raid, and Enemy at the Gates.
It's possible it's the better movie, but got upset in the conference tournament early and the committee wasn't impressed by their resume.
Box office comparisons
I believe the computers may value having more weeks in theaters than how much money is made during those weeks.
Or the coach might have said something the committee took as a personal challenge, although that never happens in real life.
That would be certifiably insane.
lots of tough choices especiallly #6
Need to see Letters From Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers go head-to-head. Letters all the way!
