NBC Sports.com has a page about the best college football traditions. Sadly, for them, they left out Enter Sandman.
I don't want to post the link to give them the traffic. Need to let them about their oversight and slight.

then again NBC ... college football? ... they only televise one team
N(D)BC
Remind me again why we existing members of the ACC were supposed to be alright with ND continuing to benefit as a football independent?
(This is for NBC not you)
There is a lot to be said for choosing not to be insulted by every little nonsense puff piece that doesn't include a glowing reference to one's own golden calf.
I'm sorry, but does really deserve a new thread? Sandman has only be around since what, about 2000? I'm not surprised it's not on their list. This just seems like another post linking to a stupid ESPN or Bleacher Report article where they don't give us the credit you think we deserve. Let's talk about Hokie football (and other sports) and how we as fans can make them even better. Being butt hurt about every article you read that doesn't praise us does nothing for the community.
The article was titled best, not oldest or most recognized. If we can't think of ourselves as among the best then who will?
Can start by selling out all games at all the venues.
Turkey Leg for the Nature Boy.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yeah... The being insulted every time we're not praised well enough was bad enough already. We don't need to start inventing things to be angry about. Right now, like it or not we're not on too many people's radar....
Big insult? Feels more like when my friend's kid calls us "buttheads" then runs away.
I get the feeling we're going to see this one a lot during the off season
Cannot be expressed better.
The amount of negative hyperbole on this site since the end of the season is getting out of hand. Not every article needs to be put on the forum. Not mentioning the Hokies or VT is not an insult.
If you are going to write about this article then you should title it like this:
"Hokies not mentioned in College Football traditions. Which tradition is your favorite?"
Then at least everyone here will be able to contribute something. I get your trying to add to the conversation but take a chill pill and make a conversation out of it at least.
I don't necessarily agree with your first two sentences, but (and at this point), with the way our team has performed the past two seasons I do agree with your third sentence. If this were three years ago I would definitely downright disagree with the third point.
Enter sandman is awesome, but still a relatively new tradition in CFL. What was it 2001 when it started? Another thing....please don't shoot for blasphemy....maybe in a few years VT will have to "Re-invent" their entrance to stay traditionally relevant and leading-edge!? Yes I dare say, who likes those old traditions anyway?
Considering how every time we're televised they bring it up, and Lane is in all those top ten toughest places to play lists, and rece davis, etc...I can understand the frustration.
Ask me again if this list matters after the entrance against Miami on Thursday night is televised nationally. 66,233 insane people dressed in #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING (that better happen that night this year) rocking Lane, broadcast to a captive audience? I'll take that any day of the week, and I suspect any legitimate fan of college football would, too.
