Wow, those were some very detailed, thought-out responses. Way to go Joe!
This is exactly why I keep coming back here. Not just Joe, but the majority of posters are level headed and even-keeled. For the most part, each win is not met with "next stop National Championship!" and each loss isn't met with "the sky is falling!" The posters here have a firm grasp of reality.
Even other blogs have mentioned it. After the Duke loss, This Week in Schadenfreude had this to say:
Yeah, I'll probably be posting here a lot more going forward....the guys here don't blow smoke and I've been lurking long enough..and I love the price
soooooo weve surpassed the internet?!
Yessir.
TKP: Sports from Beyond the Internet
Great responses Joe, it's awesome that they called on you as the Hokie representative.
Indeed, I am impressed. Way to rep the brands.
Someone get that man a bucket of oats.
Great job Joe! We'll make a tight end out of you yet.
just think, someday we'll be able to say we knew joe way back when.
Thanks y'all! Martin Rickman who asked me if I'd be willing to participate is a friend and terrific writer. He's one of the more relaxed voices writing about college football. If you want less HOT SPORTS TAKES (i.e. the crap served up by folks like Skip Bayless), I recommend you check out Martin's work.
First Take: The TMZ of sports reporting.
Ugh, I'd say it's worse than that. Skip Bayless just runs on and on, and all Stephen A. Smith does is try and use every word he found in the dictionary/thesaurus in order to convince you that he's a genius despite saying absolutely nothing of substance.
Great work. Its always nice to get validation for the work you do. Well done.
Ahhh I love seeing TKP make it into national sources. Love it.
Joe, I like how you didn't bite your tongue about the previous years' (pre-Grimes and Loeffler) coaching weaknesses. And yet did so with tact.
I know how much love people posting ESPN links, but look who made it onto today's lunchtime links (even with a name drop to boot!)
ACC Lunchtime Links
This is great. Nice catch.
Joe, stellar work as always. I love how both sites refer to you only as "Joe" and not your full name, whatever that may be.
You mean Joe isn't his full name?
News to me
It's not. Joe from The Key Play is.
I'm pretty sure his last name is TheKeyPlay. Joe TheKeyPlay; I think it's German or something.
Joe von das Schlusselspiel?
I find it very hard to believe that ESPN is aware of TKP. If they were, why are they so constantly wrong/behind/awful?
Nice job, Joe.
Doesn't HD post here??
Not directly, but in spirit....
#SOURCES have reported that Joe has been working on a deal to get sponsored by Gummi Bears. If that happens, I bet the site gets Dinnichfied.
I hope she gets sponsored by the haribo sugar free ones and eats a 5 lb bag in one sitting.
In case anyone is unaware:
Sugar Free Gummi Bears
Make sure you check out the lowest ratings.
"Lycasin, it'll get after ya!"
New Theme Song?
I prefer this one.
Gummi Bears
Not bad, but still prefer the original.
I do not even consider Hokie news accurate unless I see it on here first. Top class site with top class community.
Although, as the name gets out here, Joe may have to come up with a great pseudonym to be used as a citation. Maybe just "The artist formerly known as Joe"
Plus we have a grade A beat writer that contributes/posts in Bitter
Love the Bitter blog.
The Bitter blog is sweet.
