One of the better more thoughtful and critically thinking posters here IMO. I never got upset at anything he said. Actually, made me think. Too bad if he's gone and banned. Who wants an echo chamber.

eh...he wasn't for everyone. He was combative and infamous for moving goalposts
He made a lot of great points and was (IMO) a valuable member of the community in some ways - he was also a tough personality and was almost unbearable to have around after a loss (which we've been stacking those in bunches lately). I don't think banning him creates an echo-chamber. We still have a lot of different views and spirited debates in his absence. They tend to be more civil. That said, I don't know that banning him was necessarily the right move or the wrong move. But it's out of our control. It happened. I'm assuming that the ban was preceded by him having at least one or two chances to change his tactics. He had a lot to contribute but the way he went about it was often detrimental.

I think this place is better off with him than without him, but I'm biased. I know him in person (close friends for over 35 years), and he comes across a lot different in person with a beer than he comes across online.

I post a lot. some of what I say is unpopular. Every once in a while I say something that warrants DVs and I'll take those on the chin. Sometimes, I have innocuous posts catch DVs that I just attributed to fat fingers while scrolling on phones (they happen). And SOMETIMES I get into debates with other posters and when we're both entrenched in our views and won't budge I'll notice some DVs on posts that don't warrant it but it's clear that someone was put out by my opinion and just hit me with the DV because they didn't like what I said. Those irk me and I wish people would own up to it but they rarely do. That's why I applaud Homebrewhokie for owning it

I DVed him, not because he was against DC, but because his statement was borderline TOS. There are others that have expressed similar sentiments, without the vitriol, that I have not DVed. I don't DV comments just because I disagree with the opinions therein.
Edit: At least I try not to. I may have, in the heat of the moment, but it's not often.

Yes thats how I knew he left, I was ranked higher than normal and most of the people intront of my are well know so they're a bit obvious of they aren't there.

I appreciate this community so much, TKP has provided a level of stability and useful distraction for me for many years through many tough times in my life. I am still glad I've invested so much of my time with you all even if I haven't always posted a ton myself.
With that being said, holy fuck is this thread depressing. We deserve better.
