Definitely like getting more LBs in
In a society where everyone's obsessed with dropping lbs, I live in a world where gaining LBs is a good thing.
Needed this.
He is listed as the #15 LB in the portal, but other than this I have no idea on how good of a pickup this is. Last year he had 28 tackles on 214 snaps. This seems fairly productive considering an average snap count of 70 per game, which would equate to just under 10 tackles a game. Curious to see what others think of his film and abilities.
What is Woodson ranking in the portal? Betting this is an upgrade.
Woodson 88 3 π 27th ranked LB
Wylie 87.93 3 π 34th Ranked Linebacker
Basically a wash
What I'm reading here is we can't compete with the big dogs because we're bringing in worse talent. Fire Franklin
Linebacker is Pry's position. This is his pickup. Fire Pry!
Dude's gonna end up like Milton in Office Space. Fired but not notified and keeps drawing a paycheck.
Lol.
Or Bobby Bonilla and Omar Minaya
I reject your reality and insert my own :)
Happy about this development, for sure. Welcome aboard.
Even as a 3 star out of HS, this kid had offers from Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M among a bunch of other SEC/BIG/ACC/Big12 schools. Must be some raw talent there to mold.
Great job franklin. We need linebackers, oline help would be nice also for wish list
Good God we just got so much better so fast. Honestly we might already have the most talented roster we've had in a decade
it was a very low bar to jump.
But it's still a jump!
I'm curious as to what ex-head coach Brent Pry thinks of him?
True 4-3 strong side outside linebacker (think Jack Ham and Wilbur Marshall role.) At Penn State, he would line up over the tight end or to the passing strength, but he got replaced when Penn State went to nickel. He was the backup to Tony Rojas, who went down with injury.
I watched him against Northwestern and he put up six tackles. I heard he played well against Clemson in the bowl game, but I only watched offensive reps so I will take another look.
Who are Jack Ham and Wilbur Marshall?
I really, really hope that you are joking. If not I feel so very old. 1970's/1980's Steelers and Bears linebackers.
Glad to have him.
Here is hoping he is a

Cuddly bunny?
Leg

in fairness, I didn't get it either. I had to google it and I never watched Bambi so...
I wouldn't have known what to google, so I was at the mercy of an explanation.
i googled thumper based on the first reply
In fairness to your fairness I haven't watched it either. Only reason I am familiar is Dear Wifey.
I simply used the opportunity to express my hope for a true run stopping linebacker. Someday.
I mean if he plays only a well as Woodson, but without all the penalties and off-field stuff, it will be an improvement.
Position of most need second only to QB. Would like to add at least one more.
