Never easy
I want to be happy because we won, but all I am is disappointed. Send this coaching staff to bed without any dinner, we'll talk about it the morning
They found a way to take all the joy out of something that I loved.
Just an unenjoyable and utter maddening team to watch FAM
Fammit.
FAM the real Tech prevailed. Had to skip watching the beard-tugging madness thanks to working overtime.
Should've titled it "Every Fam Time" but still a FAM.
Done
I was joking but hooray! I am hoping we can just have a "Every FAM Time: XXX Edition" as we continue to win games in this manner.
For whatever reason when I read "Every Fam Time" it reminds me of this....
lowercase fam
Like watching a car wreck in slow motion Fam.
Like watching a narrowly avoided crash in slow motion
Love how this team likes to build a lead, then give the other team a bit of hope by burning up most of that lead in the final minutes, only to then crush them by hanging on for a 1-2 score victory! Let's go FAM!
Is it stressful? yes, its not ideal. But a win is a win is a win.
Unfortunately its not. Yes its a win but because it was a Quad 3 game, the metrics really needed us to win by 10+. We had that until we gave it away again.
WTF is our team's Game Closing Strategy? Is there one? Damn! Stop this BS!
This is the main reason we are so low in the NET rankings I believe. The margin of victory plays a key role in the analytics so when we win these close games instead of winning by 10 or 15 it actually hurts our tournament chances greatly
Kind of scary that we struggled to put away a Quad 3 team when four of the next five are Quad 1. Be ready for some heartache.
That said, they pulled it together enough to get the win against the fake Tech. FAM!
Updated with highlights
I didn't watch!
As frustrating as this team is, let's appreciate this:
Last season, #Jokies were 170 in NET at 13-19.
This season the#Hokies are currently at 55 and 16-6.
And we all feel a little skeptical because they should easily have 3 more wins or 3 more losses. The late game performance is concerning. While the boys have held on for some wins that could have easily been L's they gave away 3 wins, two to poor teams. The next 5 are going to determine if this team goes dancing or is watching like the rest of us.
They are practicing winning close games for tourney time
No doubt, and I do remind myself this as I review this season's performance thus far. In the words of CMY, "i've got a lot better players" and "I agree, we should be better than 5-4 right now".
I feel like I see bursts of the team we want, but we just haven't truly come together yet, late in the season as it is. Having Johnson back will help, and if Neo can ever shake it off and not try to hero shoot, and if Toby keeps up with his comeback we could be a more dependable team. But as we know, if wishes and buts were candy and nuts...
To show how much we miss Kevin Giltner's game planning.
He took over Wofford two weeks before the season started, was not involved in recruiting anyone on his roster.
Wofford is 15-7 and 7-2 in SoCon, tied for first.
