Colby's Corner talking how he was a target for Penn State when O'Brien and JMFF were at PSU. Says VT has a very good shot at landing him.

6'4" 220 lbs dual threat-esque style QB. Would be a nice get for our 2027 class.

He decommitted? Bor que?

Oh I thought it was Swedish

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

My favorite Muppet. I regret that I have only 1 leg to give when it comes to the Swedish Chef.

Fun fact: article years and years ago about what do Swedes think of the Swedish Chef. Link below. For one, they think he sounds Norwegian. Had a co-worker from the UK but that worked remotely as she married someone from Norway and moved over there. Asked her if she knew the Swedish Chef (she did) and asked did she think he sounded Norwegian. She said, absolutely yes.

Me reading your comment in the middle of a meeting. Thanks a lot.

I want to be excited about a quarterback that might play in 2-3 years, but I can't. Even if he signs with us, the way thing are he will probably be on team #3 by the time he hits the field in college.

I hate rude behavior in a man. Won't tolerate it.

one click shows Wagoneer's been around TKP for 7 years. Sheesh. Everyone take a nap, have a snickers or something.

That was under the old regime tho, where QB recruits would "commit" to VT in order to decrease their star rating. Hopefully that is changing for the better. But I'll believe it when I see it.

I share Wagoneer's view, but not from a place if VT inferiority. I don't think any fan of any team should *expect* that a QB signee would ever play a down for their team.

I tend to agree. I think the strategy is to build in the trenches, pick up skill players, then find a QB last.

Doesn't mean we can't be excited that this guy wants to be a Hokie. Just means that he may not ever play. Which was kinda unthinkable or a .90+ rated QB 5-10 years ago.

I think that's more of an issue across football than it was with Pry.

IMO It's still better for perception to have a highly-rated guy commit and enroll and then later transfer out than to never commit at all. Unless the transfer becomes some dramatic or scandalous thing. If it's just average transferring that is rampant across CFB now, then people won't think much of it at the time.

QB commits are great for getting momentum to build a class. Getting a QB of his caliber is 1) great for the QB room, and 2) makes it more likely that other 4-star recruits follow.

This! And Wagoneer's comment is reality as well.
I think these things can exist together and should - considering the current state of college recruiting and free agency (aka NIL w/ The Portal(TM)). The coaching staff needs to plan, recruit, and execute with that realization (IMHO).

Dont we already have several freshman/redshirt freshman qb's? I wouldn't expect him to sign with us given that. Whoever wins our starting job, barring significant injury, coaching turnover, or somehow being attrocious, they will be the starter for the next 3 ish years. I doubt a highly rated QB wants to sit that long to wait his turn in this current climate.

In that same vein, I'm also expecting 1-2 of those QB's we do have to transfer out once it's clear who the starter/backups are

They'll really get after ya

Is this Ray's son?

Probably grandson if anything. Ray is 65.

Side note: as a brins fan, seeing him lift the Cup in Colorado was bittersweet.
