Foster started off by defending Exum who had been answering questions before him, "I thought the kid you're talking to right there played his nuts off." "You can quote me on that shit too. Played his ass off. Fought his ass off."
Bud praised Bruce and Tyler for terrific performances Saturday, something French will no doubt expound upon in his defensive film review. It doesn't seem like Edwards will see meaningful snaps Saturday.
Bonner is getting reps at corner in order to build depth, it's evident Manning isn't ready to be the first corner off the bench.
He likened UNC's offense to what Tech's seen the last couple of weeks, just at a, "faster pace."
I can't be the only one to think a seething Foster is a good thing.

Damn
I'm happy I'm not a reporter in front of a pissed-off Bud Foster.
Give em' hell, Bud!
#NUTLESS
LOL
I <3 Defense!
That right there is why I love Bud and the defensive side of the ball! Time to go hit someone, hard! :)
With a lot of negativity going around
There's always Bud. He's frustrated and is feeling the heat by everyone. However, I think what most fans should take away from this is, "look, we had to revamp the entire secondary and were hopefull we'd have a shot at a GOOD defense. These guys are out there giving it what they have and if that's not good enough, well, here's a warm glass of go f yourself. Thanks"
The fire in his eyes
could melt steel. I would have enjoyed to see some of those reporters faces with him staring them down.
there's no way my voice would not have cracked if i had to ask bud questions like that with him staring me down. i mean jeez, i almost pissed myself just watching this video.
This is what I want to see
in a press conference. Pissed off, speaking the truth, explaining directly what went wrong and how they plan on fixing it. If only we could get somebody with the equivalent fire on offense. Somebody get pissed off that they only got 36 yds of offense in the 1st half. Somebody hold the players accountable for execution and performance.
Yeah, but then everybody kills Frank and the O coaches for "throwing the players under the bus." Bud says it and people are like "fuck yeahz! Bud tells it like it is!" Stiney says the same thing and it's all "o shut the fuck up stiney! take responsibility for your own shortcomings you sorry fuck!"
People were incredulous after the Sugar Bowl when Frank said Coale had a run/punt option on that 4th qtr fake attempt. Even Danny said he thought he could get the yard. But for so many people that didnt matter, it was all Frank's fault, and he was an asshole for saying it was on Danny.
Maybe I'm in the minority
but I appreciate the honesty. Yes, they're 19-22 yearolds, but they are still adults. If they can't take some criticism, then they don't deserve the praise. If you don't want to blame Coale for the terrible decision on the punt, then don't praise him on that amazing catch in the endzone.
All I want is someone on the offense to get some fire. If no one on the offense is pissed off, if they're all complacent with 38 yards in the first half, then that offense is completely undeserving of that Foster defense. It's not fair to them.
Since you brought it up, it was Beamer's fault. The Coale fake punt was a horrible game management decision. It should have never been up to Coale to decide what to do. The D was stout and Mich was having problems moving the ball. You punt there, pin them deep and play D, the Beamer modus operandi.
I have yet to hear Stinespring say anything to the effect of "I didn't get my guys ready to play.""I didn't help my guys succeed.""I didn't scheme properly.""I didn't coach them up enough during the week." There is no ownership of the offensive failures by the head of the offense. And if there are videos please post them, but what will be absent is the anger and passion of letting himself, his players and the team down, as seen from Foster. Some good plays have been called during the game but there is zero motivation and passion from the offensive side of the ball at the start of games and it shows.

Look at the offensive coordinator in this video after the game. You can't see his face because he has his hat on and looks straight down at the table. This is the guy you want leading the offense?
You may want to go back and listen to post game comments
Stinespring has taken ownership and said he needed to better prepare the players at various times during this year and last year. The only difference is he isn't saying people played their nuts or ass off and providing sound bites.
He and Foster obviously have different demeanors and different ways of interfacing with the players and the media but their message is the same, the players made some plays but didn't execute in key situations. In their comments they have both owned the fact that they are responsible for having the players ready to go on gameday.
Stinespring wouldn't get heat like this if the offense at least moved the ball consistently and looked competently coached and run. After the 5th game of the season this shouldn't be an issue. Platitudes and the usual scapegoats of 'executing' and 'one block away' only carry you so far. Foster has earned a little leeway with the defense along with the special teams carrying the team for a long time now.
Yeah I listened to the post Pitt game
interview with all the coaches with Burnop. Bud had the best line, calling the tackling "piss poor" which was repeated by Burnop to every defensive player he interviewed (Taylor, Jarrett, JGW).
But Stiney was quite up front that the offense was failing and it was his fault for not getting them prepared. I can't remember verbatim what he said, but I remember thinking "He does a much better job at accepting responsibility than he ever gets credit for."
I ripped Beamer after the Sugar Bowl, and here is the difference.
Fuller was put into a perfect position to be successful, and he failed to execute.
Danny Coale was made a scapegoat for an awful decision, and then had a game winning catch ripped away from him.
Also, Foster rips Fuller after a film review and two days of corrections. Frank did it immediately after the game, to take the heat off himself. Run-Pass option my foot. It was a straight run, and a horrible play call, and Beamer shirked responsibility for it.
There is nothing like a little Angry Bud Foster pick-me-up. I've been a little depressed after last weekend.
Don't get me wrong. I don't all of sudden have crazy delusions of grandeur concerning this team. We still have a lot of work to do to rebuild the respect we had and we're a long way from being the team we all thought we were gonna have.
But seeing and hearing the fire coming from Bud just gives me a little more enthusiasm that the team can start putting that hard work on show during games.
GIVE EM HELL, BUD
LONG LIVE THE TERRORDOME.
Shane went off on the refs yesterday too. It was nice to see some passion and outspokenness coming from an offensive coach too.
BOX: GIF that shit.
BOX:
GIF that shit.
Press Conferences Mean Nothing
We keep using words like "passion" "responsibility" "give em' hell". How about words like consistency, tackling, first downs, points. I don't care about the coaches' demeanor, I want wins. I love Bud as much as any Hokie fan but the defense gave up huge plays to both Cincy and Pitt, he needs to get it corrected and I know he will ache until he does. I wish I could say the same about the offense.
Can we get Bud
to take over the offensive line for, oh, maybe two or three days? I think that might get a few guys motivated.
And another thought...
Is there any doubt that everyone on the defense would line up and march into Hades for Bud?
