They aren't as horrible as the HokieTracks helmets worn during the white effect game.

Keep in mind, it's maroon effect.

It would at least be 'ok' if it was a maroon VT with maybe an orange outline. But this is still 1 notch above chicken feet on the helmets.

Yeah, I'm a Red Sox fan as well

and these points came up all summer. Fenway was an event, a place to be seen, Sweet Caroline, et.al.

Lane is the same way. When I was in school in the mid-90's, Lane was hungry. It was 45,000 people who had never been respected for anything. Our teeth bled during games.

I sense that its different now. We wear cute uniforms, have fireworks for field goals, see our buddies and complain about Stinespring. All the while, our opponents love playing in Famed Lane Stadium, and get more excited about it than our own players do.

The fire is gone.

Away Games

This would be a good helmet for an away game, but this is the MAROON effect game. Lester must be getting senile locked away down in the equipment room.

We need a senior class that announces in August:

We're here to win, we're not screwing around with the uniforms. We'll wear maroon jerseys with white pants at home. We'll wear white jerseys and maroon pants on the road. We wear maroon helmets. We're done with this conversation.

(That said, this is a red herring. Ask Team Nike from Eugene. 578 different combinations, and an ass whipping every game)

And we are going to continue doing these stupid variations on our uniform, let's go ahead and get a helmet that is a bunch of feathers. Clearly sarcasm, but I would love for us to at least use some flat matte maroon helmets. It can go with the #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING.
