Respect

Fellow Hokies,

I have been following a Clemson beat writer on twitter so as to keep up with new developments this week. I was shocked to read some very disrespectful things being said about a Clemson walk-on player who is also a wounded combat veteran. Now I'm not saying his status as a veteran should change your perception of his talent as a D-1 football player but as a wounded warrior myself and lifelong die hard Hokie, I was sickened to read some of the disrespectful comments by 1 of our "fans" please have some class and respect for this hero. Because that's what he is. And please don't embarrass our great football program that Coach Beamer has brought so much class and character to over the past 26 years. Thanks. Go Hokies!

Thank you

For your service, sir! And via this board, to the young man you mentioned as well.

Indeed

Well said! I think certain people need to remember we're all on the same team. It's fun to trash talk, thats part of the game, but you can do that with being respectful.

Thanks for this and for your service. Never good when football trash talk turns to personal trash talk. Why even trash talk somebody that has no impact on the game. Let's reserve our trash talk for the likes of Boyd, Watkins, Ellington, and Hopkins.

Don't Forget

Don't forget Chad 'Swag' Kelly.

This is sad to hear. It is also indicative of a huge problem with how our society uses the internet and social media. Some people do not seem to realize that there are consequences to what they type... if these same morons were to speak in public the things they type, they'd get a swift punch in the jaw and learn their lesson.

Hokie Heroes

Any "Hokie" who fails to understand and respect the history of our great university and its innumerable contributions and sacrifices to the United States and its Armed Forces does nothing but bring shame and disgrace upon themself when they disparage a decorated veteran such as the young man in question.

He's a Hokie too

What makes this even worse is that he was a Hokie all his life. He grew up wanting to be a Hokie. He talked about how excited he is for this game especially. He was supposed to get a chance to walk on here, but was told he would have to get his Associate's before being considered. So not only are these ignorant people disrespecting a hero, they are disrespecting a Hokie! I appreciate his service and yours as well Hokie 681!
