Saturday's game at death valley could get very ugly if our defense isn't at the top of their game. We need the secondary to step up against two of the best receivers in the ACC, and we need the D-line to pressure Tajh Boyd. If both of these things dont happen the Clemson offense will pick us apart one huge play after the other. It looks like we'll have Exum and Fuller playing corner with Jarret and Bonner at safety according to the new depth chart. It also says RVD will start as well. Is this the best matchup for their receiving staff?
P.S. JC is also listed as the starter at TB if anyone was worried

We need pressure on Boyd to make him do stupid things, otherwise Foster will start bringing the blitzes and they'll burn our corners all day. Keep everyone underneath. Our coaching staff should watch how Texas Tech shut down WVU, forcing them into short passes and making the tackles. Our corners are great tacklers so we should be able to mimic that. On offense we're going to need to start taking shots, Clemson just all out blitzed last year and played press coverage. LT3 seemed afraid to take a hit while throwing deep. He needs to stare the pressure down and make those big throws, that'll reduce the blitzers and open up the run game.
But O'cainespring
are due for a very poorly called game, they've done surprisingly well on the last two, but im not getting my hopes up. So if that happens and we can't put up at least 30 on their poor defense then its probably game over
Tajh needs to see this man in the backfield all day.

p.s. i know my code above is showing as just the code. i did it that way so you can edit and replace your code and people can see how the tags work.
Thanks. I'm internet illiterate, I guess.
Don't be so hard on yourself. I wouldn't know where to begin. Hence the reason why I don't post pictures, videos, anything other than plain formated text.
I don't think it's brain surgery.
I thought LT really lost that first game against Clemson all on his own. He was tentative...then awful. Boyd and LT are buddies, and LT needs to at least equal Boyds production. Boyd won that battle twice last year, by a large margin the first time.
Secondly, we need to be able to run it. In a perfect world, this is where we turn LT into Cam Newton and run him 25x. But, what I hoped our offense would be this year...it hasn't been so far. So, we need our running game against their defense to equal their running game against our defense. I don't think that is too much to ask.
Third, yes, they have great receivers...but this Marcus Davis guy...pretty good too. Their secondary, not very good either. I don't think the difference in our passing games it that wide of a margin. Tackle, keep the guys in front of you, don't give up big plays.
Finally, win the hidden yardage. It's easy to say "we need a ST's return" or a block. But we need a couple 15 yard punt returns. We need a KO return to the 40. We need to have 45 yards of penalties to their 90. We need Detrick Bonner to not just intercept a ball, but return it 35 yards to put us in scoring position. We need them to fumble a shotgun snap but recover it for a 14 yard loss. That used to be such a big deal to Beamer, he would reference it after every game. The hidden "Beamer Ball" component. But look at that stuff at the end of the game.
I think it will be a very close game, with two of the best PK's in the league. Somebody will make a FG at the buzzer and win 30-28.
A fair amount of luck
I'm not saying we can't win, but even before the season I had this game tentatively marked as a loss. It's a bad match up all around and we're genuinely worse than we thought we would be. I expect a pretty ugly game and will be pleasantly surprised with anything else.
One thing and one thing only!!!
score more points than them
Optimism
I'm very interested in how this game shakes out. I think it will truly show what we can make out of this season. Even if we lose, I'll be happy if they build on the momentum from the second half of the Duke game. Running the football, getting nasty up front on defense. The things we all expected this team to do in the beginning of the year.
If their defense is as bad as Clemson's people say, then I want to see another 100 yard game for JC. This will open up everything for the offense, and hopefully set the tone for the rest of the season. I'm believe that our defense still has the potential to play how we expected them to, and here's hoping they still have a bitter taste from last year. If the team is going to succeed in the next few weeks, I think it has to start with a statement game in Clemson.
Not being hosed by the refs and bad play calls on critical drives...Hindsight is 20/20
We should pay them. I'll put in some money for the Miami game.
Pretty sure that's what Clemson did today... Paid them off. Jesus Christ, those were the two worst ref'd plays I have ever seen... I don't even have to tell you which ones I'm talking about.
Forward progress, my ass. If that counts as a sack, there would be no Eli Manning to David Tyree miracle in the Super Bowl to knock off the undefeated Pats and more than half of Michael Vick and Tyrod Taylor's scrambles would have been TFLs.
I submit the highlight I talked about in the post above for evidence.
