This may be the greatest gif I have EVER seen.
I think photos reviews of our campus Dining options needs to be in every informational packet we send to the big uglies.
That would definitely get me wanting to go there.
Would be very surprised to see us take juco players, Beamer got out of that business a long time ago.
one of the all time great Hokies was a juco player, and if memory serves - Beamer never even saw him play ahead of time, he took someone's word that VT should grab him (Corey Moore) .. but I agree, it's not something that Beamer likes to do
It's not up to Beamer. The issue is VT admissions. Generally, they won't let anyone in who didn't qualify out of high school. It's tricky, but if Beamer & co. can get them in, they'll take a JUCO lineman or two.
This is bad policy imho... Don't understand why a kid who has proven he can do college level work would be denied admission because of his HS work... If he had gone to a Va community college and earned assoc degree he'd be admitted without question.
Because, based on my understanding, Junior College is not the same as Community College. Often times, JuCo is like post-grad high school where you are making up for your deficienies from High School.
And people don't go to Community College due to deficiencies in High School?
some of the most intelligent people I know went to community college. Some people don't have the financial support they need to go to a big 4 year institution.
The Virginia Community College system is good enough that a lot of people go there for 2 years to get all of their general education college requirements out of the way before transferring to a Tech, Roanoke College, UVA, etc. The big schools are required by law to honor the credits from the CC system. Then they are only paying full college tuition for a year or two for their degree.
Searels is going after some. Will be interesting.
