A Party in Blacksburg

After such a monumental game, full of emotion and surprise, I'm so happy the Hokies were finally able to pull the big win over a prestigious college football program. As a student who came in under the Logan Thomas Era, I was hoping to see the much acclaimed Tech football program in Lane Stadium as a student of this university. With an overpowering defense and a productive offense, we propelled ourselves back to the national stage. To top it off, it was so exciting to see many students coming together downtown to celebrate the win and come together as one big Hokie community. 2014 is going to be a big year and I can't wait to see us go undefeated with a confident quarterback Michael Brewer.

FOSTERS: Australian for defense

And for anyone still up, the game's on replay on ESPN right now, 4:50 AM.

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. " Rocky B.

I'm watching it.
I have not gone to bed yet.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Does anyone know if there was a contingent to greet the players when they arrived back in Blacksburg? I think they were scheduled to return between 3:30 & 4:00. Frank could have just let the buses unload at the corner of Main & College if he really wanted to crank up the party.

Apparently a stack of people were there to greet them.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Good deal. For me, this was bigger than the Miami game back in 2003, even though Miami was ranked #2. That's because this was in OhState's house, not in Lane. Yeah, OhState's not as good, but they're still ranked #8. Until the poll comes out. So it counts. It was also a great atmosphere that was hyped prior on ESPN, etc.

So yeah, huge win, and good for the kids in Blacksburg. Hope they all eventually made it home safely. Carol Lee's might be extra quiet this morning, until about 10:00.

I went to greet the team coming back. Couple hundred maybe a thousand people. Running from bus to bus. The players and coaches were taking pictures and talking to people. It was great.

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Slept for five hours than woke up shaking with excitement. This is incredible beyond words.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

I clocked in 4 hours worth. Maybe nap again in a few hours. For now, just letting the quiet, peaceful contentment of a landmark Hokie victory wash over me. This win goes in our all time top five. Up there with the Texas '95 Sugar Bowl one, the Miami '03 one, the Clemson '98 one...

Even better than beating Michigan in the Sugar Bowl. They wouldn't even be on the same field with us this year.

I wish I could've been in Blacksburg last night. seriously one of the best wins for tech. I saw on Instagram the huge group of students there to meet the players that's awesome

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

It wasn't just students, there were a couple of older alumni (probably 40s or so) who brought a VT flag on a 20ft pole and were waving it around as the buses were pulling up and unloading, it was pretty awesome.

(I'm also not a student, but being a recent graduate working in the CRC I certainly fit the demographic)

This win just made Lane Stadium one of the toughest places to play again....

Hokies!
