David Wilson Planning to Return to Tech!

Although he will not be returning for football, I'm sure Hokies will be glad to have him on the track & field team. The story can be found here.

This is great for the school, Hokie Nation, and for David.

The Dude Abides

hopefully he can chase some recruits around the drillfield and convince them to play for us

New River Valley rabbits...

"Oh, shit."

Leonard. Duh.

thats awesome hes such a class act hed be great to help recruiting

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

How awesome would that be to see him compete in the Olympics? I hope he makes the team.

I've heard that he's going to finish his degree. Does anyone know what degree he is pursuing?

I also saw him on NFL...Live?...once in the early season, is he going to be pursuing any sort of work in the field of talking heads?

I believe he was actually a history major, or was at one time...

As for the latter, probably. I read somewhere he was seeking advice from the great Bill Roth.

I would love to hear that he's connected with Bill Roth. Maybe they can bring him into the booth to give him a little seasoning.

Maybe they could groom him as Burnop's eventual successor?

Half of me would love to see that, the other half would like to see him in a more visible position. It would be nice to hear DW4 scream "HE's GOT A MAN OPEN....FULLER, JR! HE DID IT, BILL! TYROD, JR DID IT!!!"

david is the type of athlete that will be successful in whatever hes focusing on doing. glad he chose to do it at VT. recruits can see that hokienation always supports its members even after their NFL career is over.

Can he actually participate in Track & Field since he was a paid athlete in Football? I think so if he did not have any endorsements and was only paif by the NFL?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Reading the linked article answers that question for you.

That sounds like an awful lot of effort ;)
And the article only stated he could not compete because his 5 years of NCAA eligibility expired, did not discuss the sponsorship issue

Since his eligibility expired, your question about 'sponsorship' is moot. I don't understand how that was unclear. He's ineligible because his eligibility expired. One reason for no eligibility is all that's required.

I have to agree these pants are fucking awesome and perfect for getting away with a little team spirit on game days when you are stuck at work
