And add a NC school (State would be the likely choice) or an Oklahoma school. IMO, they are the most likely candidates for new TV markets. sakerlina won't allow Clemson in

I'd rather be in a football conference that takes the greatest sport ever devised by man seriously, than the one which increasingly is the biggest joke in the FBS.

The answer would be no, we clear $15 million in football profit and would invest most of that...but then again wouldn't have voted to raise the exit fee either.
Keep an eye on the Maryland ruling. That'll set the precedent for other schools leaving. My guess is Maryland pays no more than half of the $50mm once their lawyers are done with it and they settle. If it drops, then the floodgates open up.
Also, my guess is whichever schools leave will get financial help to pay any exit fees from their new conference.

I would love it except for Clemson. I don't think they would come over but who knows. SEC has a bunch of instate rivals even in the same division of the conference so... Now if NCState and VT were to go to SEC that could be great.

After i read what i wrote I didn't explain it right...i meant i didn't think Clemson would want go to the conference. I don't care if FSU and Clemson go as long as we do. I remember being so excited about VT going to the ACC years ago and now it could be amazing to get in the SEC. I sure hope it happens.

Would we have any issue coming up with the $50mm ACC exit fee?
We just gave the ACC a win in the ACC/B1G challenge. Screw the fee.
Fair trade right?
Nope
Not when one of us wins the Powerball jackpot. I'm sure we'll (I'll) do the right thing.
if I was in charge

I like it but...

I'm fine with NC State
And politically, they are the more likely choice. Frankly, as long as we're part of the deal, I don't care with whom else the SEC comes to terms.
Agreed.

If the SEC takes Clemson, they take FSU.
They'll take neither or both. That's why it's VT and NCSU as the pairing. And we'll need the Governor to set up UVA to the B10 at the same time.
