new coaches hype-o-meter?

Hyping up Hokie Nation one video at a time.

Noise-o-meter

It would look like one of those right about now. From the press conference to everything being said/written about the new coaches, there will be serious backlash if the record doesn't improve this year.

I wouldn't go so far as "serious backlash"... but the expectations will definitely be there.

If I was a QB I'd probably be looking forward to him being my coach too

Awesome

We'll need him to be on top of his game when we play OSU in '14 & '15.

Football IQ? What? Since when do QB's need to learn mechanics, play-calling, and defenses? Loeffler, I don't think you understand how VT traditionally coached our QBs. It's "Ok, go out there and SCRAMBLE. It's our only chance for offense." This whole notion of teaching the QB to be a better player is just so radical, it's blowing my mind.

AMEN

you speak the truth. Regardless of his record Loeffler's approach and direction is a God send. I am stoked.

I would expect so.

I wonder if Loeffler is on board with Bucky?

Loeffler has made it clear that his only requirement is that his guy work hard and want it more than anyone else. So I would say that will be up to Bucky whether Loeffler is on board with him. He definitely has the frame that Loeffler wants.

Phenomenal Question...

Regardless, I think we're going to see our 2014 QB Target list change to reflect the type of guy(s) he wants to bring in (and Cornwell might be the tip of the iceberg). Either way, the more competition at the position the better.

It has been 20 years since...

...Virginia Tech has assessed what we want out of our QB's. 20 years, we basically have required the same things out of our QB's.

Now, new guy in town. What does he want our QB's to do? There may be no perceptible change at all or dramatic change. We're about to find out.

Smart & Tough

As long as he's smart and tough, Loeffler will be on board.
