VT Class of 2017

awful joke, i guess i deserve the negative votes

VT Class of 2017

I wish I could have seen Chaney play here because he was awesome. But Garland was terrible. I remember being in a pretty empty stadium last year for one of the games and screaming "NO!" when he was pulling up for a shot. It missed everything.

Rip his freaking head off!

i remember the screaming "no"

i remember people screaming "no!" when it looked like Hank Thorns was going to take a shot. He wasn't good enough for VT, but surprisingly was in camp for the clippers.

"I never surprise myself"

Thorns also did well for TCU too. If Robert Brown ends up transferring for some reason, he will inevitably do well wherever he goes based upon our history with losing players.

Redshirt year

It is amazing how many people this team would have if the coaches knew how to use a redshirt year for something other than an injury. Guys like garland, finney-smith, and i'm sure i'm missing a couple would probably still be on the roster had they had that one year to adjust. chaney was just an unfortunate circumstance, the team doctors would not clear him because of his condition even though outside doctors cleared him.

if you have those three players you don't see the likes of marcus patrick or greg donlon on the roster which creates more competition in practice and a lot less of being content with mediocrity by the players.

Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back?

Yes we could use this. I'm really happy for Chaney, really seemed like a good guy.

Serious question

If you took 5 skill players on the football team against the basketball team who would win... Outside of Erick Green I'm not sure I like their chances haha.

This is kind of like

'Could Alabama beat the Jaguars this year?'...

And the answer is always, though it isn't fun, no.

Even without Erick Green, the Basketball team would beat any combination of guys (no matter how athletic) on the football squad.

-Justin Fuente, probably

Good Point

I guess I shouldnt have said serious question. I have seen Tyrod play a couple of times and he really is pretty nasty despite his size.

I've seen a lot of our football players playing basketball at the gym, while they are athletic they have no fundamentals. It's just straight one-on-ones and they rarely pass the ball at all.

Rip his freaking head off!

Hypothetical

On potential, playing gym rules, with the way this team is shooting, it could be theoretically possible. But realistically, based on pure fundamentals and the fact that no basketball player would want to be shown up by someone not in their sport, I'd say no.
