Recruits will get to see our new coaches in action. Plus i'm sure they'll be taken on a tour of the campus and of our new locker rooms. Its a great thing I think. I expect a few commitments.

And of course to our new dining hall. If only we had our indoor practice facility being constructed we could have some more appeal for them. Something to say "hey, even though it gets really flipping cold here in the winter, we have a nice facility that's all ours to practice in." If you ask me, that's a solid pull for those players from southern states that aren't used to anything below 50 degrees.

Cav handles the recruits and their activities on campus. From what I understand, Stiney and Cav work together to make a recruiting plan and Stiney is more involved off campus since he's allowed to do so, unlike Cav. I would imagine that Cav makes the phone calls and Stiney will make the appearances.

Guys on Rivals during their chats say for VT to have a top 10 class they need to have a great record in 2013. Right now this could be our best class on paper with a 7-6 record with a subpar recruiting staff. This new staff is loaded with strong recruiters and the philosophies have changed drastically. I expect big things on the field and on the recruiting trails.

Such a good class in Virginia this year. Most of them are high on Virginia Tech, except Blanding, whose top choice is UVA (what?) I fully expect them to nab like 50% of those 4/5 star guys and make significant progress in the Carolinas. Its gonna be a good one

Virginia in 2014 is extremely deep and talented...
Virginia alone has three 5 stars according to Rivals. California,Florida, and Texas have three 5 stars combined. I expect VT to be in it until the very end for Da'Shawn Hand,Andrew Brown,Derrick Nnadi, and Steven Moss. I could see us landing all of them. We are the undisputed favorites for CJ Reavis,Jalyn Holmes, and Ricky Walker. I expect us to land them. Quin Blanding and Jamil Kamara are drinking the blue Hoo kool-aid. Caleb Henderson is the odyssey. I believe he will head out of state. Those are the top 10 recruits in the state of Virginia for 2014. VT could and probably should land 7 of the 10.

Spring practices will be under way...

If Stiney is in charge of this kind of stuff, what is Cavanaugh doing these days?
Cav
Isn't he all but retired? Does a lot of alumni interfacing, but it seems like every year he steps a little further back from the team.

I smell a top 10 class for 2014

Should be a big year
Already have two four star commits.
With a loaded state and new coaches/philosophy, recruiting should really take a step forward this year.
High Hopes

Imagine Nnadi, Holmes, Hand, and Brown on the same dline. Nice
The Thought of this...
I don't think ....
...we have much of a chance at Brown. Probably not Nnadi either.
7 out of 10
is probably a little over-optimistic .. i say 50% .. i do think they get walker, holmes, reavis, moss, and hand.
i think we miss on nnadi, brown, blanding, kamara, henderson
you're right though .. nnadi and brown are still in the running .. the other 3 -- fuggedaboudit
Hoos feel good....
...about Moss. Hopefully that will change with our Jr Day.
I really hope y'all are right about Hand
Stiney finalized new recruiting zones...

The two areas I see growth potential
...are in DC/MD (we do well in NOVA) and in Florida.
Moorehead will be very interesting to watch. He's got a great opportunity in MD/DC. But we have no idea how good of a recruiter he is.
I'm a big fan of turning Loeffler and Grimes loose.
Dadi-Teller-Harley-Ekanem Han
Dadi-Teller-Harley-Ekanem
Hand-Walker-Baron/Smith/Williams-Holmes
That is not a bad 2 deep for 2015.
Stop talking like that!
I'm gonna need a drool bucket over here!
Don't forget about Jarontay Jones and Matt Roth.
