I was really proud of myself for getting 6/8 of the Elite correct this year, and I didn't lose a Final Four team until today (curse you, Zona, you had ONE JOB). Much better than the last couple of years when I always seem to lose a few of those teams in the first day or two.

Is it weird that I'm actually happy that Neutered Dame choked at the end? I felt like that August player (and the rest of the team in general) were acting to douchey and a little big for their britches. Who do y'all think takes it between Duke and Zaga?

You can hate on Calipari, but from what I've observed the Kentucky players seem to be decent guys. Why hate on em if they are good enough to go right to the league? The rules are set to prevent them forgoing college entirely.

I think the one and done rule sucks. I think any team that has more than two players leave after only a year on the roster unless it's to another college should not be allowed in the tourney.

Only 4 freshmen out of what 11 players dressed? That's huge numbers for a basketball team. They have what 2-3 sophomores added to that. So half to over half their roster will be gone at max in 2 years? Those aren't student athletes they are semi pro waiting on the draft.

Still begs the question, how is this the athletes fault? Some of these guys are good enough to be pros right away. Why force them to pretend they care about school or have to go play in Europe for a few years? No other profession are you prevented from someone paying you millions (if you are good enough) without being out of high school an arbitrary amount of time.

There are many jobs that have an age limit or a required amount of education level, including the NFL. I don't blame the kids completely although not getting a degree only hurts them in the long run. I blame the NBA, NCAA, schools that encourage one and done and win at all cost. I also blame society.

Age limits and additional certification are not the same as saying a person has to be out of high school for a certain amount of time. What degree is required to play in the NBA? What certifications are needed to know how to be good at basketball?
My whole point being that your dislike seems misplaced. We are talking about extremely talented people being held back by a system designed to profit off of them while giving them nothing...and you have problem with the kids?

Only a small amount, at some point they have to understand that someone is willing to give them. Free education, training in a sport and a chance to showcase their skills. Why walk away from that for the hope of making money for 5-10 years.

Yes only a very small amount of people are that talented. That's my entire point. Why make them spend a year doing something they arn't that interested in? And then be mad at them for it?

Not to mention with the platoon system they use, they play more selflessly giving up minutes for each other than any other team in basketball. I mean their leading scorer averages 11 a game. They play real team basketball

I'll tell you what, if Duke plays Kentucky than the Harrison twins are going to their hands full with Jones and Cook. One of Kentucky's rare weaknesses (if not their only weakness) is that they have a tougher time guarding quick guards. Well, Duke has the quickest backcourt in the country.
I think Wisconsin could beat them if they shoot like they did yesterday, especially Dekker but it's going to be tough. I just think Towns and Cauley-Stein will punish Kaminsky down low. Dekker and Kaminsky will have to space the floor and force Kentucky to guard them at the 3 point line.
You can never count out Michigan State with Izzo, though man. It's nothing short of incredible what he and his team does year in year out.

Sure Wisconsin could win if they shoot like they did vs AZ. But that means they will have gone 31-49 from 3 point range in their last 3 games. Possible? Sure. The likelihood of a 36% 3 pt shooting team shooting >60% three games in a row? Very low. The likelihood of reverting to the mean? Pretty good.
WI's definitely gonna try to spread the Kentucky D out. It'll be interesting to see how Calipari gets his team ready for it given a week's time to prepare.

Wow. So close.
Yep, ND got a surprisingly good shot off on the last possession. On line, just a little too strong. What a game!
Had to contort his body in th air with three airborn defenders, and still almost got it. Wonder if he could have drawn a foul.
Watched tonight's games at the bar with Joe and French and the gang. Recap:

Well so far I am 2-2 into the final four. But that Kentucky game was a lot closer than I wanted.

If ND ws playing ANYONE else I would be rooting against them. But I cNt stand the one and done roster of KY.

Because they go to Kentucky. It's on my list of "schools I never want to win at anything ever."
That's amazing! I have a list titled exactly that too! Neutered Dame happens to be in the top 10 on mine.
I think the one and done rule sucks. I think any team that has more than two players leave after only a year on the roster unless it's to another college should not be allowed in the tourney.
Everyone says that they are all one and done's, but this year they are only playing 4 freshman, the rest of the guys are sophomores and juniors.
Only two freshman starters. Callipari is pretty easy to dislike though.

Didn't like either team, but I guess for me, it boiled down to Ashley Judd vs Rudy. No contest.
Anyone watching the Louisville, Michigan St game??
Gonzaga blows. This game is already over. How you gonna give up a full court steal and layup to Okafor?
I'm really looking forward to seeing Tech compete on this level. Buzz has been there before, and I believe he'll do it here too.
totes called it, winner of UVA michigan state game was going to the final four...god if i had picked that my bracket would be amazing right now
Except MSU had a tougher time with Oklahoma & Louisville than with UVA...
I'm playing two brackets. My Final Four in one of them:
Kentucky vs Wisconsin
Michigan St vs Duke
I'll tell you what, if Duke plays Kentucky than the Harrison twins are going to their hands full with Jones and Cook. One of Kentucky's rare weaknesses (if not their only weakness) is that they have a tougher time guarding quick guards. Well, Duke has the quickest backcourt in the country.
